Taiwan on 35mm Film

Here are some of the images I made during my stay in Taiwan in November 2017. I made photographs in the cities Taichung and Taipei using my little SLR, a Miranda Sensorex EE on Ilford XP2 Super 400. Fun fact - I shot all these photos on the same roll of film.

When travelling, I assign an entire day to wandering and photographing rather than carrying my kit with me 24/7 in the hope a great photo opportunity will arise. I prefer to photograph with total intention. From personal experience, I find I photograph better when focused entirely on the task, rather than being half on my guard at all times.

I made a foray into street photography this year in some attempt to reverse the superficial vibes I felt toward my editorial work and the mundanity of event work (mostly 21st birthday parties). Black and white film is also a recent addition to my style! Film gurus will know that XP2 is not a true black and white film, but regardless I love the feel of the photographs I have managed to produce with this film. If you have any recommendations of your own for film types to try, I'd love to hear them in the comments below!

Thank you! I am not sure if there is an analog photography community, I have only just joined on Steemit myself - perhaps we should start one? I thought I might make a post next on my experimentation with cross-processing and the kinds of things I learnt through analog as a photographer in a digital majority time. Thoughts?

Can you send film out to be processed?  If they scan the negatives before they cut the film its usually cheaper than prints.  

If so, TMAX had zero forgiveness for blown exposure settings but stunning quality.  If you want more latitude for correction, I think tri-x is great.  Other votes in the room call out Agfa 100 as the best film ever made.

Seems on steemit new / current is more popular than archives, but I'll up vote any film effort every time.  :)
