Greetings everyone. Am glad to participate in this beautiful street food photography and review contest.
Street foods ready to eat foods sold on the street corners from trucks, booths, road side shops and etc. There are so many types of street food in my country Nigeria but my favourite is Shawarma otherwise known as meat sandwich.
Shawarma can be prepared with different kinds of meat such as chicken, beef, goat meat but my favourite is Chicken shawarma. The meat used it usually spiced and stacked on a meat roller and roasted slowly over low heat. This slow and low heat method of cooking the meat makes the meat very juicy and tasty.
So I visited a street food shop to buy a wrap of shawarma.

As you can see from the picture above, the meat is stacked on a slit and is already roasted. When you order for the shawarma, they cut slices of meat from the stack and prepare your order. This particular stack of meat is beef.
The shawarma is prepared with a vegetable named cabbage. The cabbage is sliced into tiny pieces and the beef is added to it. Then there's an already prepared sauce used in mixing the sharwama. The sauce is added to the meat and cabbage and mixed together. They can add other veggies like carrot, sweet maize, peas etc on your request. Then a hot dog or two is added to the mixture. The prices are different depending on the mixture of the vegetables, type of meat you want and the number of hot dogs. I went for one hot dog, beef and cabbage and that costs about 4 steem with current steem price.
The entire mixture was wrapped in a shawarma bread wrap in a circular form with a foil and put in a warmer to heat it up. The heat helps to blend the entire mixture into a sumptuous meal.

I paid and took my leave. This is what my favourite street food looks like when unwrapped.
I usually love to enjoy is directly from the wrap but for the sake of this contest, I had to unwrap it to give you a feel of what the inside looks like.

I settled down to enjoy my sweet shawarma wrap. Mmmmmmmhhhhh it's so delicious, you should come and have a taste ๐. And I didn't forget to take a selfie with my street food.
Shawarma is my favorite street food because of the unique tasty crunchy feeling and satisfaction I get from it and it's also nutritious because of the ingredients used in making it. It's a good source of carbohydrates and protein.
