I have posted about 280 posts of Book1 and Book 2 of Little Cherine

The title is deliberate and the content has lost me many 'friends' here, and from what I have seen of your posts, I doubt you will enjoy reading it.

I've never explained myself on Steemit, so here goes.

Cherine is aborn a mutant with the Gift of Empathy. As is natural, even as a baby, she learnt to send good feelings to those who suffer, so that as their suffering lessens, so does hers, on their behalf.

She inadvertently causes the death of her father and as a traumatised girl of eight meets Robert, in Athens, Greece. He is in the midst of his own suffering, for a girl, Dominique, who he loves deeply, has left him.

Cherine feels there is something special about Robert and constantly tries to make him feel happier. He is an artist and works from home, so he rarely is out of touch and this causes his own psychic abilities to awaken.

If an empath starts to love you, what is likely to happen, happens to the two of them. She sends an emoting of love as a background to her 'helping' him. He responds with a feeling of great fondness, she takes it, adds to it her emotions of love and sends it back, so that his response is stronger, until the two of them are so deeply in love that they in actual fact cannot live without each other. To save him from herself (she fears anyone loving her because of the death of her father), Cherine meets with Dominique and 'reminds' her of all the good qualities of Robert, while helping her to 'feel' again how she felt for Robert. The result is that the three of them become so closely linked that they cannot bear to be parted.

In his desperate need to protect Cherine (I have not explored the possibility, but it makes sense to me, I think the fear in Robert is his love for her but also the influence of the fears Cherine has), so Robert awakens to his Healer. As a coin has two faces, so does the healing energy. The one is the Healer and the other is the Protector. The Protector gives no priority to the survival of Robert, only to that of Cherine and Dominique. This point is central to my explanation of the story.

The family grows, but so does the circle of friends they trust, and those are linked by Cherine, so that they too awaken to certain common gifts - such as their healers and teleportation.

They learn to go to the void, which is another dimension and start to meet the souls of other species from distant stars and times.

They discover their healers can rejuvenate them. The girls also sense that the instincts of Robert are far more powerfully protective and tender if they remain children, so they have no wish to grow up (physically), so, by Book 14, which I am still writing, they are all children in appearance.

At the time I first started writing LC, in the 1990s, I used Cherine for helping make pedofiles understand that the soul , heart and mind of a child are far too precious for them to risk harming them just for a minute or two of pleasure. It worked, I had about 740 readers and they communicated with me. When two, a man and a woman who loved little girls, told me in private communication, that they had been presented with the opportunity to make love to a child, but they had thought of Cherine and could not - I felt that even if I affect no others, it has already been worth the writing.

They name themselves the Cherinians, in honour of Cherine and by Book 2 (which I'm presently posting) there are a number of alien species who become Cherinians. Robert is forced to fight two wars, the worst one being against a trillionaire mutant family who have an army of thousands for enforcing their will. No big visual effects, as in the movies, for both sides are determined to keep it secret from Mankind that there are mutants amongst them.

I, the writer, grew to love my characters, so that by Book 2, I was writing because I did not want to lose them. I was also curious as to how the gift of empathy would affect the world. I can admit that my characters lead me and through them I discovered empathy does not have the effect I had imagined it would.

I was also tantalised by the mental images of the movie, "Interview with a Vampire", where the good vampire gives immortality to a child, so as to save her. I wondered how my Cherinians will respond to immortality and having the ability to be any physical age they wish to be (for instance, adults, so as to dress up nicely and go to an exclusive casino). Would they all want to have an ideal beauty or would they mature beyond that? Would the girls tire of being children; for how long would Robert react to them as children, would time and experiences force him to react to them as adults? There are hundreds of questions and I am still learning from them.

As they grow in numbers and the powers (gifts) of Cherine grow, so do the problems they face and - hopefully - so do I.

I avoid speaking or describing the sex, for the story is not meant to titillate, so in that sense it is not kid-porn. Just a weird Fantasy story. However, most adults do not have the patience to read about children, however miraculous they may be. As a man who always wanted children, helped look after a couple, but never had one of my own, I do not tire of them.

I wanted to place LC on the chainblock, for I am elderly and I do not expect my books to survive me. With the way I have to post here, there is no way I can get them all posted before I die...maybe just upto book 2 or 3.

So, I love having readers, receiving comments asking for explanations and so on, but I do not expect them anymore - apart from one faithful reader.

Perhaps you may enjoy reading some of my other posts with short stories. I've just posted one, which is why I went looking for my friend, to ask him to read it. Because of my delays in reading your posts, by the time I sent him my mention of the story I had posted, he had already commented...which was now twice as special to me, because it showed he does look at my posts and read some of them :) I guess that further places me in your debt :)

Sorry for the length of this comment, but I do tend to ramble on a bit....
