Ciao amici, oggi voglio mostrarvi uno dei miei migliori viaggi fatti in Italia, sulla bellissima isola della Sardegna, avvenuto qualche tempo fá, insieme a degli amici. Ho avuto la fortuna di visitare questo posto incantevole per 2 volte consecutive nel mese di agosto e settembre, in due viaggi a pochi giorni di distanza uno dall'altro, in nave nel primo, ed in aereo  nel secondo, visitando complessivamente per 25 giorni l'isola, attraversandola da sud al nord, in treno ed in auto a noleggio.

Hello friends, today I want to show you one of my best trips made in Italy, on the beautiful island of Sardinia, happened some time ago, along with some friends. I was lucky enough to visit this lovely place for 2 consecutive times in August and September, on two trips a few days away from each other, by ship in the first, and by plane in the second, by visiting for a total of 25 days the island, crossing it from south to north, by train and by rental car.

Giunti sull'isola dopo questo lungo viaggio, che ''sconsiglio'' a chi non ha un grande gruppo di amici, per ingannare il tempo "11 ore" sono molte.. ci imbarchiamo questa volta in un autobus, che ci porterá a circa 50 km a nord da Cagliari, a Villanovaforru piccolo comune che ci ospiterá per tutta la durata del festival di 15 giorni. Subito vengo rapito dai luoghi e dal dialetto.. la Sardegna é molto caratteristica, ed antica, sono state rinvenute tracce umane del  Paleolitico inferiore tra 500.000 e i 100.000 anni fa, ed il suo nome deriva dal latino Sardinia, terra-isola dei Sardi (Sardi -orum ), nome con cui i Romani la chiamavano. Ma giá i Greci la chiamavano Sardò, associandola a Sardo, figlio di Eracle, che secondo il mito sarebbe giunto nell’isola a capo di colonizzatori libici. La Sardegna era chiamata dai greci anche Ichnussa, dal greco ichnos (orma di piede umano), per la sua caratteristica forma. Una ricca cultura e storia ancora molto presenti nei monumenti, dialetto, danza e tradizioni dei suoi abitanti.

Arrived on the island after this long journey, which ''discourage'' to those who do not have a large group of friends, to deceive the time "11 hours" are many.. we embark this time in a bus, which will take us about 50 km north from Cagliari, in Villanovaforru small town that will host us for the duration of the festival of 15 days. Immediately I am kidnapped by the places and the dialect.. Sardinia is very characteristic, and ancient, human traces of the Lower Paleolithic have been found between 500,000 and 100,000 years ago, and its name derives from the Latin Sardinia, land-island of Sardinians (Sardis -orum), the name by which the Romans called it. But the Greeks already called it Sardò, associating it with Sardus, son of Heracles, who according to the myth would have arrived on the island at the head of Libyan colonizers. Sardinia was also called by the Greeks Ichnussa, from the Greek ichnos (footprint of human foot), for its characteristic shape. A rich culture and history still very present in the monuments, dialect, dance and traditions of its inhabitants.

Eng. The mamuthones typical masks of Sardinia, whose name still does not know the right translation and meaning, perhaps mamuthones would be the "men invoking the rain". Another hypothesis still derives the name from maimatto, that is the tempestoso, the one who rages or infuriates the storm, an epithet given to the Zeus Pluviale.

Ita. Mamuthones maschere tipiche Sarde, non conosciamo traduzione e significato del nome, forse i mamuthones sarebbero gli "uomini che invocano la pioggia". Un'altra ipotesi viene dal nome maimatto, cioè il tempestoso, colui che infuria o infuria la tempesta, un epiteto dato allo Zeus Pluviale.

E dopo tanti giorni di esibizioni, sfilate musicali, balli e canti, non possono mancare le visite guidate ai nuraghi, le feste con gli altri gruppi li presenti e le cenette speciali con la ottima gastronomia Sarda, cibi, formaggi, vini e sopratutto ospitalitá eccellenti ! La Sardegna realmente ha un fascino ed un ambiente paesaggistico, comprese le bellissime spiagge, inimitabili ! Consiglio vivamente di visitare questa eccezionale Isola, ricca di cultura, storia e leggende, a soli 45 min. di volo da Roma.

And after many days of performances, musical parades, dances and songs, you can not miss the guided tours of the nuraghi, parties with other groups present and special dinner with the excellent Sardinian gastronomy, foods, cheeses, wines and above all excellent hospitality! Sardinia really has a charm and a landscape environment, including beautiful beaches, inimitable! I highly recommend visiting this exceptional island, full of culture, history and legends, just 45 min. flight from Rome.

Potrei stare qui ad illustrarvi le tantissime belezze di questa Isola, ma il post diventerebbe troppo grande.. L'unica cosa che posso aggiungere é che la bellezza del luogo e della cultura Sarda é disarmante! Consiglio vivamente a tutti gli amanti dei viaggi, di andare almeno una volta in Sardegna!

I could be here to illustrate the many beauties of this island, but the post would become too big .. The only thing that I can add is that the beauty of the place and culture of Sardinia is disarming! I highly recommend to all lovers of travel, to go at least once in Sardinia!
