### Hello again,  dear brothers and sisters

<div class="text-justify">This is my 2nd day in the 62 days gratitude challenge; and today, my reason for gratitude are "My Parents".  

My parents were Juan de Dios Rodríguez Morales and Perlina Alvarez de Rodríguez, both natives of Lara State, in western Venezuela.  My parents are no longer in this world, both departed with the Lord and I have the conviction that they are resting in the presence of God. My father lived in this world from March 8, 1926 to February 28, 2015, one week before his 89th birthday, and my mother lived 88 years, from July 26, 1928 to November 3, 2016. They were loving and exemplary parents. They instilled in my brothers and me the fundamental moral and spiritual values that shaped our character and allowed us to be prepared to face the challenges of life.</div>

### Beloved Heavenly Father, I thank you for the life of my parents.

<div class="text-justify">For having shown them your love and salvation and making it real in their lives. They met you in the midst of a great family crisis, my older brother had died tragically and for a time everything was chaotic and painful at home; but You, O God, showed your mercy and that tragedy transformed it into victory, because they in their anguish and pain knew about You through Your word. Your truth transformed them, they experienced your love and consolation and since then they accepted you as Lord and Savior of their lives, and the biggest thing for me is that they shared it with us their children and we saw you through the love of they.

Lord, I have no words to thank you for the tender care that you had of them in their old age, even in the midst of illness, your grace sustained them. My father had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and everyone said he was going to suffer many, even doctors told us, but Glory to God, my father did not suffer and spent his last months in peace at home, surrounded by his children and his beloved wife who accompanied him until the end and my dad died with a smile on his face, without fear or pain. And so it was with my mother, your love and mercy never left her, you took her by the hand and brought her to your presence with peace and security and like my father, she left this world, with a smile drawn in his face and he slept peacefully. Thank you Lord for your love, it has been so real in our lives that the economic and political circumstances of the country can not move us from that truth. 
 
Lord, I express my gratitude to you from the depths of my soul, in the name of Jesus, my Lord and Savior, Amen.</div>
