It's week 23... Somewhere smack in the middle of the year. And some time since my last soliloquy.

I've been doing some heavy reading (good quality reading) on Medium.com ever since the new government was elected here in Malaysia.

Yea, for those that didn't know. Malaysia has finally been kicked out of the list of "countries with currently the longest ruling parties in the world". Ruling for 61 straight years filled with progress and corruption all the same.

So what's the connection with Medium.com and a regime change? 

Well, a few years prior someone wrote an article on Medium.com about the scandal surrounding Malaysia's controversial 1MDB project. You can the read summary of it <a href="https://www.engadget.com/2016/01/28/malaysia-medium-block-explainer/">here</a> but gist is, the previous ruling party rather censors its citizens from a website that even China does not block than to face the truth of a clusterfuck that is 1MDB. Saying that Medium.com is hosting an article that is "false, unsubstantiated, misleading, and violation of the [section 233 of communication and multimedia act 1988]"

With the unraveling of 1MDB and the redtapes that surrounds, it's public knowledge now that the "accusations" are not  "false, unsubstantiated, misleading" at all. And in fact is worse that alleged. So Medium is back online in Malaysia without needing VPN or Tor!

# I've

found myself digging an entirely unexpected new music genre. Despite me not knowing the language. Sertanejo songs really has been tugging at my heartstrings over how beautiful the music is. I guess it started when I've gotten the suggestion on my Spotify Release Radar playlist. And wow did I not know the wonder of Latin America's biggest Diva.

Paula Fernandes, and her latest song Beijo Bom (Good Kiss) is one anyone can enjoy IMO. The rhythms are smooth, her voice is hauntingly beautiful, and the song arrangement leaves a fuzzy feeling after a listen.

I don't think its the first time i've enjoyed a Brazilian song though, my first Brazilian favourite that i liked a few years back was Michel Telo's Ponto Certo.. If there is Portuguese song I can sing by heart, its Ponto Certo.

I just like how exposing myself to other cultures lets me find gems that I absolutely enjoy, be it food, music, or a great friend.

## Well,

the past few weeks have almost been monotonous to fault but there will be some changes in the next couple of months possibly even the next few weeks that's gonna be hella exciting. Love to see what's ahead of me..
