The group of Malikussaleh University Chancellors, Dr. Herman Fithra, made a surprise meeting with students from Gayo Lues Regency. The meeting discussed a number of lecture issues during the Covid-19 period.

The meeting of [Universitas Malikussaleh](news.unimal.ac.id) students with a number of Gayo Lues students took place at a cafe in Blangkejeren on Sunday (6/21/2020), when the Unimal Rector's entourage was en route from Kutacane to Takengon, Aceh Tengah.

On that occasion, a number of students questioned a number of things related to lectures during the Covid-19 pandemic such as the issue of Single Tuition (UKT), online lectures, and the implementation of the judiciary. The questions came from Febry Caesariyanto Safar, Nuri Pratiwi, (Medical Education Study Program), and Muhammad Reza Fadli from Mechanical Engineering Study Program.

"We really appreciate the desire of students to convey a variety of lecture issues. So, in the midst of a tight time, I decided to have a dialogue with our students from Gayo Lues," Herman Fithra said after the meeting.

In front of Unimal students from Gayo Lues, the Chancellor of Unimal said that a trip to Pesisir Barat - Selatan was conducted to visit a number of scholars who supported the establishment of Unimal while strengthening cooperation with district / city governments on the West, South and Central coasts.

"After meeting there was a big appreciation from the local government. Some offered Unimal to acquire several educational institutions in the South West and Central Coast. This is an opportunity for Unimal to develop education up to the South West Coast,"  Herman said. []

# Rektor Unimal Buat Pertemuan Dengan Mahasiswa Gayo Lues
Rombongan Rektor Universitas Malikussaleh, Dr Herman Fithra, membuat pertemuan mendadak dengan mahasiswa asal Kabupaten Gayo Lues. Pertemuan tersebut membahas sejumlah masalah perkuliahan di masa Covid-19. 

Pertemuan mahasiswa Universitas Malikussaleh dengan sejumlah mahasiswa Gayo Lues berlangsung di sebuah kafe di Blangkejeren, Ahad (21/6/2020), ketika rombongan Rektor Unimal dalam perjalanan dari Kutacane menuju Takengon, Aceh Tengah. 

Dalam kesempatan itu, sejumlah mahasiswa mempertanyakan beberapa hal terkait perkuliahan di masa pandemi Covid-19 seperti masalah Uang Kuliah Tunggal (UKT), kuliah daring, serta pelaksanaan yudisium. Pertanyaan itu antara lain datang dari Febry Caesariyanto Safar, Nuri Pratiwi, (Prodi Pendidikan Dokter), dan Muhammad Reza Fadli dari Prodi Teknik Mesin.

“Kami sangat menghargai keinginan mahasiswa untuk menyampaikan berbagai permasalahan perkualiahan. Makanya, di tengah waktu sempit, saya memutuskan untuk berdialog dengan anak-anak kita dari Gayo Lues,” ungkap Herman Fithra seusai pertemuan tersebut. 

Di depan mahasiswa Unimal asal Gayo Lues, Rektor Unimal menyebutkan perjalanan ke Pesisir Barat – Selatan dilakukan untuk mengunjungi sejumlah ulama yang mendukung penegerian Unimal sekaligus memperkuat kerja sama dengan pemerintah kabupaten/kota di pesisir Barat, Selatan, dan Tengah. 

“Setelah bertemu ada apresiasi yang besar dari pemerintah daerah setempat. Ada yang menawarkan Unimal mengakuisisi beberapa lembaga pendidikan di Pesisir Barat Selatan, dan Tengah. Ini sebuah kesempatan buat Unimal untuk mengembangkan pendidikan sampai ke sana,” ungkap Herman.[]
