The 613 parts of the Jewish law applied to them. They don't apply to us. The Bible doesn't say that those who delight in the law will be the most blessed. It doesn't say anywhere in the Bible who will be the most blessed.
But Jesus emphasized obedience. He talked about it in the final hours before going to the cross.
(John 14:15 NIV) "If you love me, you will obey what I command.
(John 14:21 NIV) Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."
(John 14:23-24 NIV) Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. {24} He who does not love me will not obey my teaching.
