Oh god, dollar chasing sucks.  I get why people really want money, but I also get why, when the go hard for it, most of them give up.  I find it more pleasant and rewarding to focus on things like how many things I make or how much better I am at something.  Passion first.

However, life is really, REALLY hard to do without money, and the allure of being able to just make content is really big.  A good. healthy balance is needed right now.  Maybe that will change in the future.

Yah!  Persistence is the word. 

You just refreshed my memory on how I got to know about you, *DISCORD* Yah,  I can recall. 

You've been quite kind, I must admit, your Courtesy on Discord was really admirable and you had this way of stopping by on my blog,

Indeed, steemit is not easy to survive this days,  unless someone with high SP decides to be a sincere friend and lend you a climbing ladder. 

This most at times discourages people from spreading words about steemit.

I get why people must have left steemit, you pointed out good reasons. I came for Steem and stayed for the people and passion for writing so I guess that’s a good reason to stay 😄 Have a great Monday/week!!

Community features are coming ( they have been coming for a while now but there was an update today on @steemitblog)  i wonder what impact this will have on discord and will the communities move over to steemit.  Although there was no mention of chat or DMs so probably not!

This is a great post and for me I know it's hard for people and if you really only seek success I think it's easy to fail and give up but doing things in right amount. For me I feel success in friendships and self growth. I have met so many amazing people that are friends for life and I also learned much about myself and I have grown in my confidence and realize that getting our of your comfort zone is a good thing.
Money? Ya I'm not so successful there but I'm happy and for me that's all that matters 🤗

First off all thank  you for this great Post @battleaxe. Really good.

Anyway, this above really hits me as very poignant. It is the reason why I just do not have any potential friends, family, church friends including my Minister ( who 3 months ago was at the top of my List for recruiting for Steemit) who I will approach to come on aboard here at Steemit.

I have found in the last 3 months this is NOT even remotely close to being for everybody..

It's just NOT ! Maybe that's bad, maybe you could say it's a bad attitude I have or whatever...but I guess you could also say "it is what it is.

I think  it takes a combo of traits to be successful here at Steemit. You need to be a good producer of Content ( writer, videographer, photgrapher, vlogger etc..) as well as a very good "networker" among people and to be able communiuate effectively and engage with others. And do this consistently and persistently over a long period of time. Let's face it it takes a great deal of Endurance to make any headway here at Steemit !!

For better or worse, that's why it's NOT easy and why Steemit is NOT for everyone .

My only real gripe with Steemit these days is the dishonesty associated with the bid bots. I would much rather the whales and dolphins who are delegating SP and voting powers to these services just be honest about what they are doing and just self upvote. It seems pretty slimy to hide behind the guise "helping minnows" when in reality it is purely about profits. At least @grumpycat is honest and open in his self upvoting, I can respect that. I just find it hard to respect those who do the same but cloaked their action behind the veil of charity. 

Sorry about that, I'm not really sure how this relates to you post(very loosely at best). I guess this has been on my mind and it seems to rear it's ugly head every time I sit to write on Steemit.

I've just been going through the people I follow in hopes to clean up my feed a bit. It's good to see you are still plugging away with interesting and often helpful or encouraging content. Hope you have a great day.

Congratulations on your first year here. Persistence obviously pays off but so does good quality, and you have both. Discord is doing wonders for people and, like you said, it is more pleasant. Keep on doing what you do, steemit is lucky to have you 💚

ain't this da truth. I totally echo your sentiments in the last paragraph. The people and connections on Steem are often more tangible than in real life.
