# Photography is an art

But as with any skill, it can be trained and practiced until that skill becomes perfect, and with today's challenge I was hoping to illustrate the theory. I am by no means professional when it comes to photography but I hope that one day I will be at least better than what I currently am.

I used my kit lens to take these photos and the camera was set to a standard ISO 100, as I was trying to understand aperture and shutter speed with relation to exposure.

Because I was using the 55 - 200mm lens I couldn't get really close to the subject, but I am experimenting with the lens to understand it's capability a little better.  At an aperture of f4 at 55mm it's not a terrible picture but it has so much potential for more.

So this is the same photo with a longer shutter speed, and you can clearly see the difference in exposure. Thank goodness for photoshop so you can rectify mistakes made when trying to capture the moment, but it takes necessary time. So the skill comes to know your equipment well enough as to prevent hours of photoshopping after the shoot.

This is the same photograph touched up with some very basic photoshopping, and it depicts the photo so much more crisp.

The best thing about being artistic is that you can choose what you want the outcome to be, so love life, learn new skills and record history, you never know whom it might influence in the future.
