https://cdn-blog.adafruit.com/uploads/2014/06/Dune-box-of-pain.jpg Paul (Kyle MacLachlan) is tested by Mohiam (Siรขn Phillips) in Dune (1984) Like the title of this blog say's, is it fair to judge a cover rather than what's inside? It's true that in life there are many surprises, and we shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. However appearance and conduct are two different things. What do I mean by that? Well it's one thing to judge based upon looks alone. I could see a beautiful women and assume she is a gold digger. Of course this could be totally wrong; but it is society at large that has re-enforced these stereotypes. Stereotypes effect all of us on a conscious and subconscious level. In effect, society programs many pre-conceived notions into people. Even 'things' can get a stereotype without getting to know the heart of any matter. (Pretend there is an image of a hot female that is smart) So moving on, is it fair to give everyone a shot? Or is it fair to move on if certain books are known to contain bad content. Ok enough with the allegories; books are people, and covers are the outside persona's we see. Certain people may have done absolutely nothing to us, and yet their conduct is well known. The blockchain for instance on social networks like Steemit records people's conversations and actions. So if I were to say, READ all about certain people on steemit conversations and replies, perhaps I'm judging a person based on their PAST conduct. After all those pesky threads cannot be deleted. If you didn't know what I am leading too it has to do with past conduct, and perhaps a guess of what kind of plots and scams that will come next. Sometimes revenge is about power rather then getting back at someone. Perhaps an idea is born simply out of being the loser. Losers generally want to be the ones to call the shots. I don't have a crystal ball, but sometimes the book is just open to read and digest. Perhaps that's where my lack of faith is born from. You know the old adage; "Knowledge is power", and "Too much knowledge is a dangerous thing". As one viper said to me, "KABOOM"

Indeed I don't try to judge a book by its cover. It can sometimes be a reflection of what's inside. I try to get to know someone first. Indeed knowledge is power and sometimes it's better not to know. Ignorance can be Bliss. Thanks @bearbear613

I guess we should give everyone a chance, otherwise, wouldn't that be racist or something similar?
