# What Walks Through a Palette of Color

He fingers his eyeballs
causes short circuits
with patches of color 
on the walls of his brain.

They are abstract expressions
and summon a gallery 
of unwanted guests,

the people he knew,
now celluloid dolls
who pound on his skull
and wander his thoughts
looking for gravestones
in fields of bright flowers.

They make him uncertain,
cause him to fidget
and gurgle in the back
of his throat.

He tries to ignore them
but they cover his head
with white canvas
and say he’s insane.

This one needed several reads. Not to understand it, but to allow the nuances of language to filter in and make their full presence felt. Great use of imagery. About a topic that resonates to me.

Ya, this poem surprised me, I made the image first and it seemed upbeat and happy. As I wrote, the poem took the image to a whole different place.

This image conjures up feelings of *anxiety* and flights of *impostor syndrome*. Totally wishing for a fresh canvas to bring a bit of order into the palettes right now ^:^ Finding your creative outlet is never easy in world filled with subjective judgement but I think overall you managed and wrought it rather well.
