The United States of America has never been shy to flex their political and military muscle whenever there's some benefit for them.  They often tout their actions as "War against insurgency" or some sanctimonious bull but we all know it's a farce.  The United States will never get involved if there's no direct benefit to their country but in conducting those drone strikes in Iran that killed Qassem Suleimani, the head of Iran's Revolutionary Guard's foreign operations branch, they have overstepped their boundaries and with tension already being high between the two countries prior, this act may have ignited the flames of war between these two countries.

The threat of a Worldwar will have far-reaching effects on everyone, whether directly or indirectly involved. In Nigeria's case, where we are still battling insurgency and numerous natural disasters(politicians), I suspect we are going to be one of the most affected indirect parties of this war.

In 2018 alone, [Nigeria received over $400M in aid funding from the United States](https://www.pulse.ng/news/world/donald-trump-this-is-how-much-america-is-giving-nigeria-in-2018/9qx9gyn). This is despite the President of Nigeria getting in bed with leaders of Middle Eastern countries in his futile attempts to impose Islamic views on Nigerians and even [trying to establish a bilateral agreement with the President of Iran](https://encomium.ng/buhari-meets-with-iranian-president-and-nigerians-in-iran/).  As far as Allegiance goes,  It is safe to say that we're politically indebted to the United States of America, a country that we're deeply indebted and I don't mean that in a nice way.

Nigeria is still dependent on Freebies and handouts from the United States, and if shit hits the fence we'll definitely be sending troops to support their cause. That's probably going to be risking thousands or even millions of Nigerians that have no connection with the dick measurement contest between Iran and the USA.

The potential of this event escalating to war will have an adverse effect on the freebies Nigeria receives from the USA. While I'm not in support of the actions of the USA, nor am I in support of Nigerian politicians that embezzle and misappropriate the funds, I reckon things will get even worse if that support dries up.

The World is watching and in a short space of time, there have been at least 3.7million tweets about Iran talking about Iran's retaliation, apologies to Iran, jokes or wisecracks about the situation. I certainly hope it doesn't escalate beyond the point and an amicable solution can be found; war isn't something to be jokes with. The world is already unsafe as it is, we can't afford to make it even worse.
