Another day of Coronavirus madness gives us another episode of the Stay at Home Challenge.

I´m not staying home by the way, I try to enjoy my day as good as I can and that also includes going for a morning surf, going into the mall, for a walk at the beach or visiting friends on the weekend.

But at this stage it seems like we´re still far far away from worldwide travels. This is why I´m participating in this challenge daily. It was never that easy to travel, just read through all the Stay at Home Challenge posts and imagine you were at this certain place. :)

Today we´re going to the Lake, so pack your swimwear...

## Little Blue Lake on Tasmania, Australia

I'm sorry that I have to disappoint you at the first lake, which is not suitable for swimming. But it looks incredibly beautiful with its aqua blue colour.

The Little Blue Lake on Tasmania is situated on the way to Mt. William National Park in the north east of the island. We found this lake by accident when we were on the way to the national park. Our first thought was "Lets get our swimwear and jump in", but than we saw the warning sign, that advises against swimming in it.

The water in this lake is highly acidic and polluted with toxic heavy metals. But this is not the reason for the colour, it is rather the white clay which was exposed during the tin mining operations, reflecting back the blue from the sky above. That means, you have to go there when it is sunny, otherwise it won´t have such a vivid colour.

## Baerensee (Bear Lake) in Stuttgart, Germany

First of all, this lake has nothing to do with a bear and in fact I´ve no idea where the name comes from. Second, again it is not suitable for swimming. But this lake is well known among runners, hikers and people who are seeking for a little distance from stressful city life.

Together with the Pfaffensee and the Neuer See, this lake forms the park lakes of stuttgart that are all three next to each other in the same forest.

Although it is not suitable for swimming and it is not allowed to go kayaking it is still a nice recreation area and always feels a bit like holiday when we´re there. There is a beer garden next to it serving excellent swabian food and beer.

## Lake McKenzie on Fraser Island, Australia

Finally guys, a swimming lake. No, this the THE ultimate swimming lake. Lake McKenzie on Fraser Island in Queensland is by far the most amazing lake I ever swum in. With the white sand and deep blue water, the lake is one of the biggest attractions on the island.

The high natural acidity makes it virtually impossible for most plants and fish to develop - which really makes it one of the most spectacular and relaxing places to swim. Once in, you don´t want to leave anymore. The water feels like you could drink it, but don´t do it.

If I could beam myself to a certain place now, it would be to this lake
