I know this post will be read by people all over the world. Today I have an entirely different thought of posting this article. Many of you who have travelled in India would have came to Kerala ***'God's own country'***. Its natural beauty is world famous. Lush forests, backwaters and cultural diversification are some of the happy surprises a visitor will get in kerala. ***That's why its one of the most preferred tourist place in world.***

But for the past few days things are not going well for the homestate. Monsoon rains which helped to create this greenery itself is becoming its end.My home state, has been facing the **heaviest monsoon season since 1924**. For the first time in history, the state has to  **open its 35 of its 39 dams** so as to prevent their collapse. The results was terrible.

The State Government, the people, rescue-and-relief teams, various organisations, volunteers (on ground and online), Kerala media are doing their best in facing this **disastrous flooding amid torrential rains, overflowing rivers and widespread landslides**. Emergency national and international response has been prompt and coordinated. The entire government is working together keeping aside all their differences.We are worst-hit, have already **lost 77 lives - 29 of them over the past 24 hours**. The actual count of relief camps is not immediately known with more offices and schools being turned into impromptu camps as the state is bracing for more rain. More than**1,50,000 people** have been evacuated to relief camps.
Giving food to everyone at **₹100 per day** will itself cost **₹1.5 crore** a day.
