Today on 2 Minutes with the Farmer we are doing Bird Box Maintenance.  Every winter we go around and clean out our 200 bird boxes.  We love our birds here on the farm.  They are our natural pest control, so we need to keep them happy. One way we do that is give them a nice clean home to use in the spring.

Did you make the bird boxes yourself?  Looks relatively clean, after taking out the old nest, imagine the kids are messy as they are growing inside for a few weeks.  But they do great work while their homesteading on your property.

Yes we made them all a few years back.  Cleaning them is easy when it is cold out.  The birds are a huge help here on the farm
