Diecast Racing

Hi Friends,

My son is very into hot wheels at the moment, so I googled hot wheels (diecast racing is what I guess they call it since hot wheels is a trademark) in Southern California and found a “race” that was happening one weekend.  We decided to go check it out and race some of his cars!

It’s just what you think - a 4 lane track, downhill, with computerized times and winners.  We had a lot of fun and there were about 30 racers in the field.  My daughter also raced a teal truck to join the fun.  Here are some pics:

After all the heats and beating the odds, my daughter won the races!  It was a fun night of memory building.  The entry fee was $2 per car, and the winner took home $15 worth of gift certificates, so it was profitable for us to be there (if you exclude the gas, and overpriced hot wheels they had for sale, of which we bought a few).  

Who would have thought there was competitive diecast racing leagues!
