The Paradoxical Nature of Perfection and Mistakes

<html>
<p>No one is perfect and we all make mistakes, that much I think we can all agree on.&nbsp;</p>
<p>However, after typing out the previous sentence and re-reading it a few times, I find that I disagree with myself.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Perfectly Imperfect?</h2>
<p>Who is the ultimate decider of <em>who or what</em> is considered perfect? What's perfect for me is different than what's perfect for you.<em><strong> </strong></em>Throughout our lives, we accumulate a set of preferences, values, and opinions by which we determine if something is perfect or not. <em><strong>Is this not an imperfect way of judging perfection? Can perfection even be judged? Should it be judged? In our own way, are we not all perfect already?</strong></em></p>
<p>We don't acknowledge our own perfection, but can acknowledge the perfection we see in others. I think that's by design; I think we <em><strong>can't</strong></em> acknowledge it in ourselves. After all, we need to have some sort of purpose in life, something we are striving toward. Viewing ourselves as perfect would defeat the purpose...of having a purpose. ;)</p>
<p>For those of us who have children, we know for a fact that we have observed perfection at its core the day our child(ren) was(were) born; one look into their eyes and we just knew.&nbsp;</p>
<h3>So who are you to say that you are not perfect? Stop being so hard on yourself.</h3>
<p>I still think I'm a flawed human being and I will most likely believe that until the day I part this earth. I think that so I don't go crazy. After all, how do you perfect perfection?</p>
<h2>Mistakes</h2>
<p>What if we were destined to make a mistake so that it will throw us onto the correct life path? In that case, it's not a mistake at all -- merely a temporary jolt meant to awaken us. Another thing I'm pondering right this second is: To what degree do we make a mistake before it's considered ridiculous or unforgivable? In that case, it's not a mistake at all -- merely a cry out for attention, for love. <em><strong>What if there is no such thing as a mistake?</strong></em></p>

<p>What about murderers and child molesters? Every time they commit their heinous crimes, are they not <em>making a mistake</em>? Are they not utterly despicable, evil, pathetic? By definition, yes. On the surface, yes. I believe, however, that these "evil" people did not initially come into this world as "evil" and have been deprived of love in one way or another -- usually through childhood or early adulthood trauma. They are projecting this pain and deprivation onto others because they don't know anything else in their current state of consciousness. If you study these criminals' lives, you will find this to be true.&nbsp;</p>

I wrote somebody else in here this quote from a book:

*"In ancient India, a group of young monks were watching their
master prepare chappatis (pancakes). He would pour a ladle

At least I put the effort to do it. 
The paradox is that every one would be perfect by a single definition, they would be mediocre. Outlined single definition. Sometimes the good people are to harsh to themselves and the one turned evil are to shallow, the shallowness being inserted by some unfortunate events in the past.
