100多个人每天吃吃喝喝，大开宴席，还抱怨主人不好，你怎么能欺骗我们的感情 等等，就在那里纷纷扰扰不已。忒勒玛科斯对此当然是很不满意的。雅典娜女神就去指引了他一下说，你应该悄悄的出门找你的父亲，而且告诉他说你可以到斯巴达去寻你父亲的消息。忒勒玛科斯就出门了。
 
与此同时，奥德修斯是被困在一个岛上。这个岛上有一个仙女卡利普索。奥德修斯在特洛伊战争结束后，胜利返航。由于他得罪了海神，海上起了波浪，他一直没有办法顺利的驶向他的目的地，最后他的船也翻了，仆从也藏身海底了，那么他就流落到了卡利普索所在的魔岛。这好像也是命中注定。
 
其实是卡利普索救了他，可是卡利普索救他是因为奥德修斯是一个非常漂亮的、非常吸引人、非常有魅力的人。卡利普索爱上了他，希望把他留在自己的岛上，过幸福的生活。可是奥德修斯从来没有忘记过自己的妻子，所以虽然他被救上了岸，但是他一直坐在海边遥望自己的家乡，一直思乡心切。
 
卡利普索希望奥德修斯回心转意，和他共结连理，但奥德修斯一直不同意。卡利普索说过虽然我不能让他同意娶我，但是你也不要指望我帮他打造船只。奥德修斯没有船他就只能停留在岛上。
 
这个事情本来是一直没有人知道，也就是家里一直没有他的任何消息。而忒勒玛科斯找到斯巴达的时候，也是顶多知道你父亲在特洛伊战争当中没有死，他己经返航了，只不过怎么会没有回到家就不知道了。
