Finding dreams again
![DSC_6479.JPG](https://files.steempeak.com/file/steempeak/celestal/9BaL4MyN-DSC_6479.JPG)

For a long time I've had troubles remembering my dreams, but this morning I woke up to the realization that I could recall many events that occurred in the abyss of my mind. I consider it a small success because unconscious is the realm where creativity happens – and dreams are a manifestation of the unconscious – so getting closer to that realm I think is also getting closer to one's creativity, which in my book is a good thing.

I don't know about you, but for me many times the dream is never in a fixed setting but keeps changing during the "scene". For example, in the dream that I saw this night, I was a worker at a ski jumping hill: every time someone jumped off the ramp, I would even the landing hill. Although it didn't make much sense that I was in the upper part, because nobody lands right after the ramp. At this point I had a lucid moment where I looked at my rake and it's rod extremely precisely and had a moment of lucidity where I could see everything as vividly as awake.
I then decided to climb to up the skijump ramp to jump there myself. At this point I used the "breathing reality check" (breathing through a closed nose pinched by your fingers), you know, just to make sure I wasn't going to make anything actually dangerous activity for my physique. For some reason though the ramp was short and there were people on the way so I didn't end up jumping.

_This is the point where things shifted, but I can't actually remember how exactly, because I didn't write it down of my own lazyness; dreams tend to fade quickly from the memory, especially when it's about things don't make chronologically sense for a rational mind._

In any case, I still remember I was climbing up a cliff and I had mules with me. It was quite spectacular they didn't fall because the wall was almost fully vertical with few knobs to grip. Then I saw another climber go past me, and then I realized there was a big knob above me. In fact, the whole wall was now like a climbing wall and I was actually in some kind of competition to make it to the top. I actually failed and fell to the ground, I tried to make it back in time, but couldn't. Then I just ended up sneaking into a spa (_change of setting again_). Then some dude came there saying I shouldn't be there or something. Then there was also this kid at some point that needed some guidance, though I can't tell anymore at which point it happened...

Anyway, I guess I wanted to just say that is nice that I'm getting "back on track". It might seem silly to put such emphasis on dreams, but I think it is plain arrogance to bypass it completely, because the unconscious is quite the extraordinary – it's so good at it's things you don't even notice it. It's the reason why you can walk, talk and do pretty much anything without having your brain clogged with information; it's the most complicated neural communication 'thing' in the Universe that we know of. Sure, you choose to think by yourself if you want to, but what's there to think if the unconscious gives you no motive?

We don't trust ourselves because we think there is an objective "right answer" to our problems given by the world and get anxious when in fact there's not. And you'll never realize this if you keep looking at the external only to never turn inward where you're mind is doing a constant processing – you just have notice it.

Oh, btw, the picture was half accident with a long exposure time, taken from a car. I like it though for its surreal properties that go well for the purpose of this post.

>i always remember nightmares much more better

It's probably because nightmares make a much bigger emotional impact, we tend to remember negative experiences better than positive or neutral ones.

In case you missed it on her post, @eveuncovered recommended a book called 'Why we sleep - Unlocking the power of sleep and dreams'. I'm mostly through it on audiobook now. It's fantastic! I second the recommendation. I really think you'd like it. And yes... there is a whole section dedicated to dreams. :)

Yes! She recommended it to me already :D It should be coming soon to my local library so I will get my hands on it as soon as it appears there.

>It's fantastic!

I'm sure it is! Matthew Walker is a great dude, really good lecturer/speaker, too!
