Why You Need to Drink A LOT MORE Water!
HEY YOU! Yea, I’m talking to you pal: drop those nasty fizzy drinks and step away from the vending machine! You thought you were gonna get away without drinking water for another day – well, today’s your lucky day! Today I’m going to share some information with you that is absolutely going to **CHANGE YOUR LIFE!** So grab this water bottle and come with me!

We all know how incredibly essential water is to life – how water makes up 70% of our planet and 70% of our bodies – and yet we still continue to IGNORE it! Instead of drinking something that is intrinsically natural and always good for our bodies, we dump it instead to fill up on more bubbling sodas, sugary juices and intoxicating cans of beer. We’re an instant gratification society after all and we’re always craving for that next shot of caffeine or that oh-so-yummy dose of sugar. In the heat of the moment, we always tend to go for the hotter chick.

But I’m here to tell you all, my beloved Steemit community, to knock it off and start drinking more water! Believe it or not, there’s nothing more poisonous than drinking more and more cans of soda, jugs of juice and bottles of beer while that more wholesome and loyal gal across the street – let’s call her Miss H2O - continues to look wistfully at you, wondering just when you’ll finally come to your senses and start downing *her* in one gulp!

So in no particular order, here are some of the most important reasons why you should start drinking more water TODAY:

# It gives you WAY more energy than coffee or Red Bull

Quit devouring all those cups of coffee in an attempt to stay awake during that Monday morning PowerPoint presentation! Heck, don’t even think about buying that can of Red Bull from 7-Eleven! Coffee only gives you a temporary shot of caffeine while leaving you dehydrated for the rest of the day. Red Bull is even worse since it is chock-full of chemicals that only weaken you over time and fill up your body with reactive oxygen radicals that can destroy your cells! Why rely on these worthless imitations to temporarily boost your energy when you can enjoy as much water as you want and get that original, long-lasting stream of energy that lasts the entire day!

# It aids in digestion and prevents constipation

Now you don’t have to worry about sticking an enema into the darkest corner of your body – you can just drink more water to help you pass that next bowel movement! It’s the easiest equation in the world, so say it with me: **MORE WATER = MORE POOP!**

# It helps fight infections by boosting your immune system

The next time you’re sick in bed while the rest of your friends are outside in the park enjoying another beautiful summer day, remember that water provides an EXCELLENT boost to your immune system by powering those B and T-cell reactions needed to pulverize that flu and get you back on your feet in no time! Just keep in mind that when you’re sick as a puppy, you must drink EVEN MORE water than usual to recover faster. For example, if you drink only 6 glasses of water a day (that’s not enough, you should be drinking at least 10 glasses a day), you need to drink at least 1.5x more water. So if drinking 10 glasses of water is a good baseline, you need to drink at least 15 glasses of water a day while you’re sick.

# It helps prevent cramps and common body aches

Say goodbye to those over-the-counter pain pills like Ibuprofen and Tylenol every time you get a splitting headache! Water is hands down the BEST pain-reliever in the world. And best of all, unlike NSAIDs which can hurt you even more with side effects such as stomach ulcers, water comes with no side effects and provides you with a preventative pain relief system. Thus, the more water you drink every day (remember at least 10 glasses a day), the less pain you’ll experience later in life. 

# It actually helps you lose weight!

Wait, water helps in weight loss? You heard that right my fellow Steemians! Every drink of water flushes out toxins and maintains your metabolic rate in order for you to lose those extra unsightly pounds of fat around your belly and in your thighs. So you say you wanted to get rid of that muffin top before donning that swimsuit this summer? Well, your prayers have been answered and the answer was sitting in front of you this entire time – water is the best and most efficient weight loss plan in existence!

So there you have it folks – water is simply AMAZING and frankly there isn’t enough of it in your day to day routine. And my recommendation is so easy to follow – drink at least 10 eight-ounce glasses of water per day! And in case you were wondering how you could space out so much water throughout your day, here’s my go-to guide:

**2 glasses of water when you wake up in the morning**
**2 glasses of water when you eat breakfast**
**2 glasses of water when you eat lunch**
**2 glasses of water when you eat dinner**
**2 glasses of water before you go to sleep**

I call it my **Rule of 2s.** So write it down on a piece of paper, stick it to your fridge and eventually commit it to memory because, trust me on this, this simple 10 glass regimen will be the best improvement you make in your life today!

Moreover, this is just a minimum recommendation for how much water you should be drinking every day because if you do any high-intensity exercise or live anywhere especially hot or close to the Equator, you need to drink A LOT MORE than just 10 glasses of water!

All too true :)

My classmates don't get my obsession with ALWAYS having my water bottle full. 

Of course, its kinda even worse for me... Im hyper-metabolic, burning through my resources WAY faster than others... one of the reasons I can eat tons yet am always thin XD

Tough it means I need to drink even more often XD XD

This morning i was part of "dépassons le handicap" a 10-12 km walk organized by a 2-3 local Rotary and Lions clubs here in our region of france.

...

They were sponsored by a local supermarket and #@#!#!@ Mcdonalds... there was cola and sugary ice tea available in big cooled containers... and then a dozen or so very cold water bottles... at both beginning, end and "recharge" stations

They also served bloody blanquette when the last people arrived...

At least that was 30 min after everyone had emptied the water bottles they just put forth XD
