**My True Story** - I posted what I ate for lunch on my first blog. It really doesn't matter how nutritious and healthy and green it is. **Big Mistake!**

**Fast forward, today it has been 60 days. I am a better man.**

I have become:
* More **prosperous** - my account balance has grown from $0.00 to $400 USD. (not to brag but to give you hope)
* More **positive**  myself - my outlook on life has become more positive from meeting so many positive people here. 
* More **spiritual** - a closer walk with our Creator and reading more of the Bible.
* More **grateful** for what other Steemians, complete strangers, have blessed me with. 
* More **emotional** for the kindness of other Steemians, complete strangers, with their selfless giving. They brought tears to my eyes a few times. :'-)
* More **joyful** - I am more content with life and smile more. 
* More **confident** by winning two debates hosted by @wwf and partially sponsored by @fulltimegeek.

## My Story
Before I signed up 60 days ago, I only knew a little about cryptocurrency. I never heard about Steemit. 

Sixty days ago, a dear friend forwarded an email about Steemit from another friend. We all signed up and started to figure out how this thing works. We sent emails to each other when we each discovered something new.

***Yet, nobody told me not to post my lunch*** ;-)

I have learned so much in the last 60 days and I wish to share my story with you from the bottom of my heart. I hope it inspires you and helps you push forward if you are new or when you are frustrated. I hope it gives you a little laugh if you are old (i.e. an old-timer). 

## When there's a will, there's a way.
The first thing I learned was to branch out. My friends and I all started with minimum delegated steem power - something like 14SP. I learned really fast no matter how many times we upvoted each other, zero times one million is still a zero. The problem - I was never good at social media and didn't care about it before. So it's a steep learning curve for me. But when there is a will, there is a way. I am like an old dog learning new skills, yet enjoying it. ;-)

## Be hungry. Be very hungry. You want it. You want it so bad.
This is real. Don't doubt it. Doubt will only slow you down. God forbid, even if Steemit goes away, the friends you make here and the skills you acquire here will help you on another emerging platform. 

## Be Genuine. Be Sincere.
Find posts in the tags you are most interested. Read it, and make genuine and sincere comments to contribute to this community. Make friends, not enemies. The authors and the community will appreciate and welcome you dearly.

## No Excuse
I don't want to hear any excuses: I am too old, I am too young, I am not good at writing. I have no time. If you don't like your job you have been enslaved into and are not making time for this, you might get stuck in a job you hate forever. If you are not good at writing like me, find someone to edit your writing - my dear teenager daughter sometimes does proofreading for my posts. (It's quite a humbling experience for me. I used to pretend I had studied harder at school than I had. I wish I really had paid more attention to writing when I was at school.)

## Produce Consistently
Introduce yourself to the community by writing a genuine introduction to let others know you are real. Comment sincerely and consistently to engage with authors and gain followers. Upvote even when your votes worth nothing - authors would understand and still appreciate it - been there, done that. Be responsive to any comments made on your posts - upvote and say thank you. Be an inspiration and blessing to others by saying something nice from the bottom of your heart.  

*Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care.*
