Learn to Be Ambitious? Find Your Goals and Meet Them
What is it to learn to be ambitious? Do you aspire to get out of bed in the morning, or do you dream about leaving your current position and travelling somewhere away from your comfort zone? Do you dream about having a new car, or a new home? Do you wish to travel the world, or do you long to be on your own? Learning how to be ambitious can change your life - literally!

To start with, let's reflect on some of the questions you have probably been asking yourself. Do you dream about having your own business, a big house, lots of money and/or a fast car? Do you dream of travelling the world, setting up your own consultancy? Or do you long to be financially independent? If so, you already possess many of the skills we are talking about.

Now we come to the difficult part. How do you get from where you want to be right now to where you want to be in the future? And how do you get there? And how long will it take?

Well, that's a bit harder to answer. There is no magical pill that will give you an easy way to achieve your goals. However, you do need to set short-term goals, and write-up an action plan for achieving those goals. In order to achieve your long-term goals, you're going to have to work your butt off and work smarter. That's a fact.

Set short-term goals that are easy to achieve, but which help you progress towards your long-term goals. You'll want to write-up your short-term goals and delegate someone else (maybe yourself) to work on them - but you still need to be working hard. You need to be building momentum, because if you don't you won't get anywhere. Remember, all power to your subconscious - what do you say?

You have the power to learn to be ambitious. You have the power to say, "I want to be famous." You have the power to say, "I want to be rich." You have the power to say, "I want to be a great writer."

You have the power to learn to be ambitious. So what are your goals? What is holding you back? What would you like to achieve? And what are your reasons for wanting to achieve these things?

By asking yourself these questions when you learn to be ambitious, you open up your mind. You'll learn that it is OK to dream big - and to have those dreams put into action. You'll learn that the path to happiness is a journey rather than a destination. You can go through mountains and valleys, have success along the way - and know that the journey is the reward. It might not be easy to do - but it's more rewarding in the end, isn't it?

Here's an example. Imagine that you've won a major essay contest. You've done tremendously well, and your college has accepted you. Now imagine finding a job in the same college, with the salary you want, working in an environment you love - and getting paid for it.

You've achieved some remarkable things, haven't you? You were able to win a major award at your college. And you know there are other people out there who will be achieving even greater things as well. Wouldn't it be amazing if you were able to share your own experiences and achievements with them and help them also achieve their own goals?

Of course it would. And that's why you want to learn to be ambitious. You want to be the person who can open other people's eyes and show them the way to happiness. You want to be the one who is trusted for advice when they need it. You want to be the one who know how to tackle problems by coming up with clever solutions - rather than pointing out the flaws in their approach.

If you learn to be ambitious, you'll achieve the goals you've set for yourself. You'll be a more fulfilled person, and you'll be able to see all the rewards of hard work. You can turn your dreams into reality. You just have to keep looking.
