For My Beloved Country

2018 has been a seriously difficult year on the country I hold dearest. The Kyoto-based Kanji Aptitude Testing Foundation has run a competition every year since 1995 which is used to sum up the year in a Kanji symbol.

This year's symbol - pronounced like the English word "sigh" - was chosen by just fewer than 21,000 people. What does it mean? "Disaster". And nothing short of that. I've written stories this year for @abn and @the-bishop-ufc and even on this profile regarding the disasters that have been striking the country this year. I've summed them up on numerous occasions, but this site also gives a pretty good summary, minus a few major typhoons.

>Flood waters swept across the country in July, killing nearly 200 people and causing the evacuation of close to nine million across 23 prefectures.
The same month at least 65 people died in a heatwave that saw more than 22,000 people hospitalised
Typhoon Jebi lashed western Japan with winds of up to 172km/h (107mph) - the strongest typhoon to hit the country in 25 years
The northern island of Hokkaido was hit with a magnitude 6.7 earthquake, which triggered landslides

Why is this happening? The returned Christ Lord Ra-El wants the country to repent as he, too, loves the Japanese. Their country is beautiful, their people are wise and some of the best this world has to offer, they have come a long way since the horrible disaster of Hiroshima and have been a huge part of my life. It's time for this gorgeous country to come to the returned Messiah while mercy is being granted.
