How the bitcoin investors should handle the events on 01/08/2017

We are close to the crucial date of 1st August. This is a very crucial date for the Bitcoin Investors, particularly those investors who park their bitcoins in the web based wallets.
## What is Happening on 1st August ?
A majority of the world's big mining pools would trigger Segwit2x with their combined computing power. This would activate a code change known as Segregated Witness (SegWit). Later on, it would set the network down and would possibly lead to the hard fork.
If a majority of miners controlling hash power donot support SegWit on August 1st, but few of them support it is likely that Bitcoin’s blockchain will split in two. This would require some time for processing.
## What should the Investors Do ?
* If you are technically savvy, you can transfer the bitcoins from web based wallets to the hardware wallet
* In hardware wallets the private keys of bitcoins can be controlled by the investors.
* Some of the known hardware wallets are Mycelium, Copay, Bitgo or Trezor.
* It is recommended not to enter into any transactions from 1st August, if the tussle between those supporting and opposing the *_Bitcoin Improvement Proposal 148_* is not resolved before that and if we don’t have a clear winner. You can resume transactions once a clear scenario emerges.
* Do not accept or send transactions from 31st July.
* Do not consider a transaction final (send or receive) from 1st August till the clear winner is declared.
* If you are not tech savvy to transfer money to hardware wallets, you can continue to store your bitcoins in your existing wallets but then you are on the mercy of the wallet service providers.
In most of the cases you are likely to get both the coins, one would be legacy and another would be the new coin.

@coffeelovers i believe that the clouds of uncertainty have moved away. The settlement between major miners is seen to be achievable. BIP 191 should be in place and mostly nothing needs to be done on 1/08. Unfortunately there would be no bonus issues for the currency you hold and soon bitcoin prices would touch the high of $3500. Lot of optimism in the cryptomarkets is the reality of life. Lets hope for the best and earn profits out of crypto currencies across the world.
