**Collum National Forest, North West Oregon USA.**
A woman is running through the forest wearing a nightgown, she stumbles and falls down a hill, a gusty breeze suddenly appears and ther ei s alight in the distance.
A man walks towards her his figure is blurred and there is a bright light.
The next morning the woman is found by a police team, unsure whether she was attacked or raped but the discovered there are two strange marks on her lower back. The woman is identified by an inspector as Karen Smithson who went to school with his son. Given the conversation amongst the inspectors this strange phenomena is not the first time this has happened in the area.
**FBI Headquarters Washington DC USA.**
Agent Dana Scully FBI investigator walks into the building to meet with seniors, who are reviewing her file.
We also meet this man for the first time simply known as *the smoking man* more on him as the series goes on.

They briefly ask her about her background in medicine and how she became an FBI investigator.
They ask what she knows about an agent called Fox Mulder. Scully goes on to say a lot about her knowledge of Mulder including his college nickname *Spooky Mulder.*
The directors go on to explain that Mulder has an unhealthy appetite digging into his work over the X Files, they want Scully to assist on the cases, whilst writing field reports for them, giving clear accounts about the validity of the work asking for a scientific analysis.

Scully heads down to the basement of the FBI Headquarters, where Mulder has set up office this is where they first meet. Mulder dismissed Scully explaining that he is aware that she is a Doctor and knows about her history and that Scully has been sent to spy on him.
Mulder immediatly asks Scully for her opinion and shows slides of Karen Smithson and other victims found dead, with marks on their bodies. He asks for Scully to ID the marks, Scully dismisses it as needle marks or electrocution.
Mulder shows her a chemical diagnosis on the substance around the mark, Scully believes to be organic or a synthetic protein.
Mulder asks Scully on her opinions of the existence of Extraterrestrials. Scully dismisses the claim, Mulder goes on to say that Karen Smithson is the fourth person in her class to die of suspicious circumstances in which no answers can be given.
# The next day
Mulder and Scully head over to oregon to investigate the case further, whilst on the plane there is a lot of turbulence. which Mulder believes is down to Extraterrestrial invasion.
On route in the car Scully explains looking at the autopsy report of the previous three victims that no marks had show up on their bodies, Mulder believes it could be down to the medical examiner and believes there is a conspiracy.
Then the radio in the car turns on but there is a lot of interferance, Mulder stops the car and heads to the trunk, where he goes and puts an X on the road, painted in red spray paint.
They arrive at a coastal town in Oregon and the agents meet the coroner at the town cemetary who has something to show them, when a man pulls up who is the county medical examiner, who is not happy at the work that has been carried out. This was the man who had done the previous three Autopsies but not Karen Smithson.
Mulder finds it suspicious and the medical examiner becomes irritable but is asked by his daughter to go home with her.
As the body is exhumed from the grave, Scully explains about the history of the corpse. This was the third victim who was sent to hospital after school for post adolescent schizophrenia, he had pleaded guilty of two murders but no evidence was found of a crime. The cause of death was exposure to the elements but the night he died was a warm night.
As the coffin is lifted out something breaks and the coffin goes hurtling down a hill and then smashes, when mulder opens the coffin, he is stopped by the coroner, advising this is not correct procedure. Mulder continues and when he opens the coffin he sees what looks like a dead, rotting alien corpse.

Scully begins doing an Autopsy on the corpse, whilst Mulder is taking pictures as evidence, Scully advises due to the shape of the eye cavity that it is indeed not human, but when Mulder asks what it is she suggests a chimpanzee.
Mulder requests tissue samples and x rays, but Scully thinks this is someone making a sick joke. During the Autopsy Scully has found a grey metallic implant which she has no knowledge what it is.
Later that evening whilst Scully is making her report, Mulder comes to her motel room to ask if she has identified what th metal object is but Scully has no idea.
The next morning they visit the hospital where the victim was being treated and ask the doctor questions relating to the investigation. Mulder asked if any of the victims were treated with hypnosis, which the doctor denied. Scully asked if any of the kids from the school were being treated now.
The doctor advised yes two called *Billy Miles* and *Peggy O'Dell* who have been at the hospital for four years. When they ask to speak to the patients, they are told that Billy is in what they call a waking coma, and that he and Peggy were involved in a car accident Peggy is in a wheelchair and is unable to walk.
When the doctor asks Peggy that the Agents want to speak with her, Peggy says that Billy wants her to read to him and that Billy needs her close.
Mulder asks for an exam on Peggy and suddenly Peggy becomes violent and starts lashing out at the staff she falls out of her Chair and is restrained by staff members. As Peggy is restrained Mulder lifts up her top to reveal the base of her back and see's the same two marks on the other previous victims.
Scully leaves the hospital and Mulder goes after her, Scully wants Mulder to provide her with answers what he thinks is going on.
Mulder believes all the kids were abducted by extra terrestrials, which Scully dismisses and says it is down to psychosis and that the patients could have done it to themselves. She has many questions mainly that the forest was at least ten miles from the victims houses and why were they there?
Mulder and Scully head to the forest to investigate further into what has been going on, mulder looks at his compass and notices that the needle is spinning. As Scully is looking around she sees an ash substance on the ground, she picks up a handful of it and puts it in her pocket to be analysed, when she hears a noise and calls out to see if its Mulder. She sees a light up ahead of her and a black figure appears on an embankment above her he appears to be carrying a weapon.
Scully calls out for him to drop the weapon and aims her firearm at him. The man is the county Sheriff who says that they are trespassing and have to leave or they will be arrested. Mulder returns and trys to calm the situation down, but the Sheriff is insistant that they have to leave. They are escorted back to the car, Scully shows Mulder the ash like substance and believes that the kids are involved in some kind of cult where they are sacrificing bodies.
As they are driving back to the town it is raining heavily and Mulder Checks his watch which reads 9.03pm, he checks the compass again and it starts again to spin. Suddenly there is a blinding light coming from above them, the car then cuts out and comes to a stop and Mulder cannot start the engine. He checks his watch again this time it reads 9.12pm and he explains that they have lost 9 minutes of time.
He gets out the car and is very excited at what just happened and while he explains to scully he notices the car has stopped by the red X he had painted earlier that day. Mulder explained that he believes this is a main area for *UFO* phenomena which is why they had lost time. Scully argued that this was impossible and time cannot simply be lost, and there must be a more logical explanation but then the car suddenly starts up again on its own.

Back at the Motel Scully is writing up her report on the computer when there is a powercut, so she decides to go and take a bath.
She heads on into the bathroom and removes her robe, she reaches down to remove her underwear when she feels something on her skin, she cannot quite make out what it is and cannot see it in the mirror.
Scully immediately goes to Mulder's room and asks him to take a look, this is the first time we see the agents on a more personal basis.
Mulder looks and explains that they are just mosquito bites, Scully is frightened but relived and hugs Mulder.
As the night goes on the agents start talking and Mulder explains that when he was 12 his sister Samantha was abducted by Aliens when she was 8 years old and she was never found again. He said that this is what had led him to pursue the career he had chosen with the FBI, and thats when he came across the X Files.
He said that there is classified government information he wanted access to but someone is blocking his attempts. He said that the only reason that he is able to continue his work in the X Files is due to connections with people in congress, and he believes that Scully is connected with the conspiracy, but Scully assures Mulder that she isn't.
Mulder goes on to say he has been working closely with a Doctor for regressive hypnotherapy, he explains that when hypnotised he goes back to the night his sister went missing, he recalls a bright light and a presence in the room and that he was paralysed and unable to help his sister. Mulder believes the government knows about it but he cannot get answers.
Just then the phone rings and Mulder answers it a woman called him to say that Peggy O'Dell was dead but Mulder was unable to identify the caller.
## Rural Highway 133, Bellefleur Oregon USA.
Mulder goes to the crime scene, he speaks to a man to find out what happened. The man explains that Peggy ran out in front of the car and he was unable to stop in time. Mulder double checked that Peggy had infact ran being that she was in a wheelchair. Scully goes over to examine the body of Peggy O'Dell when she looks at her watch and sees that it stopped at 9.03 the same time as when they were in the car.
But then Mulder calls to Scully that they have to go to the Lab where they did the autopsy earlier on the body that was exhumed and that someone stole the corpse, they make way to the hotel and find that the agent's rooms have been set on fire which contained all the evidence from the investigation. Just then a woman comes forward her name is *Theresa Nemys* and asks for protection. They all go off to a Diner, Theresa explains that she finds herself out in the woods often with no knowledge of how she got there and that it has happened to her friends. She is scared that she is going to die, Mulder realises she is the daughter of the chief medical examiner and it was her who called him to say Peggy O'Dell was dead.
Theresa says that her dad knows what is going on but she was told not to tell anyone because then he is able to protect her. Theresa thinks she will be the next one to die, and just then her nose starts to bleed. As Scully goes to get a Tissue the medical examiner walks in with another man insisting that Theresa needs to come home with him, saying that Theresa is sick.
We find out the other man is Detective Miles, Billy Miles's father, when Mulder asks him if he is Detective Miles confirms it and that Mulder has to keep away from his son.
When they leave with Theresa, scully believes that it is down to them why the hotel room was on fire and the corpse went missing because the medical examinder had been lying on the autopsy reports and is hiding evidence, she also believes that they know who or what is causing the killings.
But as they don't know why Mulder wonders what is in the other graves from the previous two killings, they go to the cemetary to check it out and find that the graves have already been dug up and the coffins removed.
Mulder thinks that he knows who killed Karen Smithson, he believes it to be Billy the Detectives son. Scully questions his suspicions but Mulder explains that if Peggy got up and ran, then it is likely that Billy can do the same and that it fits in with the abduction profile. As Peggy was killed at 9.03 Mulder thinks that time had stopped and something happened in that missing 9 minutes and something too k control of Billy.
Scully explains when Peggy's watch stopped and Mulder believes something in the forest is calling the kids which they are being experimented on and are being genetically muted into something else. Scully goes on to say something called Theresa Nevin into the woods but Mulder says that Billy took her there.
They then head over to the hospital to visit Billy Miles, the nurse there explains that it is likely that Billy will never recover and get out of bed, Mulder asked if anything unusual happened last night but the nurse said no, she was watching TV at 9pm but cannot recall what she watched.
Scully goes to the bottom of the bed and lifts up the blanket to reveal Billy's feet which are dirty and covered in earth, she asks Mulder to come and take a look, Scully takes a sample of the dirt of his feet, and confirms that indeed Billy did go to the woods, and that the substance is the same ash that she had picked up, but the original sample was lost in the fire so she has no evidence.
Mulder asks Scully to confirm her suspicions because he knows that she has to write it in her report so Scully decides they should go back to the forest to retrieve another sample and compare them at the lab.
They head back to the woods and notices that Detective Miles's car is there, and then they hear a scream coming from the woods. As they are running through Scully hits her head on a branch and is knocked down, when she lifts her head Detective Miles is there saying they should have kept out of it and runs off.
Mulder continues to run and Detective Miles orders him to halt and again says their trespassing, he orders them down on the ground. Mulder says that he knows what is happening to Billy and can still hear screams, he tells Miles that Billy is going to kill Theresa, Miles runs off in the direction of the screams.
We see Billy holding Theresa in the woods, Detective Miles orders Billy to stop and to let Theresa go. He goes to shoot Billy but Mulder stops him when they go down the gun goes off which Scully hears the shot.
Billy picks up Theresa in his arms and turns, Mulder can see two big marks on his back there is a big gust of wind and a bright light appears above them all.
Scully appears and starts to watch, as the light gets brighter it envelopes Billy and Theresa, and then it fades Theresa is on the ground but alive and Billy is standing and is conscious of who he is. Detective Miles runs over to hug him and Mulder sees that the strange marks on his back are gone.
Mulder runs to find Scully and she asks what happened. Billy then goes through hypnosis and is asked about the light.
Billy says that they were all having a party and celebrating graduation and that the light came and took him away to a testing place, he was told to gather the others to do further testing and they put something in his head.
The FBI directors and Scully were observing through a one way mirror in another room,
They asked Billy who gave the orders he said the light and that no one was supposed to know, but they wanted everything destroyed.
Scully has a meeting with the FBI directors who said that the scientific credibility is unsupported and Scully confirmed what they said as she had nothing to back up her report.
As the testimony was under hypnosis that they had no physical evidence, scully gave them the device she had uncovered from the autopsy and explained that the metal it is made of is unknown.
They asked what Mulder's theory is and Scully advised that he thinks we are not alone. As Scully leaves and heads out the corridor she passes the smoking man who heads into the room.
Later that night Mulder calls Scully and advises that he called the District Attourneys office in Oregon and there is no case file on Billy Miles and the paperwork they filed was gone.
Then we see the smoking man walking down a large corridoor filled with shelves with boxes on them he goes to a specific box marked **10041 evidence** and pulls out a plastic container, he opens it and it has many other communication devices in it the same as the one uncovered in the autopsy he puts the container in and puts the box away.
As he leaves an closes the door we see he is in the pentagon.

# True story?
I could not find any article online to confirm if such occurrences happened in real life to base this story off there fore this is a work of fiction. Unless the documented accounts were many which is where the story was created from but no single action of this type has ever been documented.
I very much enjoyed writing this post which has take me many hours of writing but helped me to understand the story line better, seeing how the relationship between Mulder and Scully started, and why Mulder has such a deep passion for paranormal activity.
It was interesting to see that Scully's perception changes because she cannot deny what she is seeing but that she is able to accept that she cannot prove her report without being able to gather evidence.
