PhotoFeed Update - PhotoFeed Curation Trail Is Back Online

@PhotoFeed is the premier photo featuring project on the STEEM blockchain. This project is spear-headed by @jrue, @aweber, @yumyumseth and I and we aims to improve the experience of those who want to see beautiful high-quality photography.

We manually curate the #photofeed tag, resteem the best, create a daily and weekly round-up where we share the rewards while working on long-term solutions to create a better experience for the photophiles on steemit.com. 

**If you don't have time to browse the #photofeed tag for good stuff, just follow @photofeed for daily awesome photography.**

## Update

In the last week, our curation trail experienced interruption because of a sudden spike in user activities. Because of that, we stopped voting actively in the #photofeed tag. We sticked to our resteem/upvote + daily round-up.

But now it is back-on! Since @photofeed is still a baby account, we don't have the voting slider yet but that should be solved by next week. So, please go ahead and add your account to the @photofeed curation trail on [SteemAuto](steemauto.com)!

## Plans for the future

We can't wait for communities to come online! We aim to be the #1 community for professional and amateur photographers. Communities will allow for a better experience when it comes to browsing photography. We keep our eyes close to the [hivemind github repo](https://github.com/steemit/hivemind).

We are also talking about a possible [Smart Media Token](smt.steem.io)...we want all serious photographers to own it to have the power to curate effectively the community and topic they care about. SMTs will allow us to do that. **Be active** and a **positive force** in our community and discord and who knows...you might receive an airdrop! 

An app is not out of the question either. But we will wait to see if there is enough demand for it.

A photography oriented app/website or even a stock photo business with Steemit-like voting system might work well. With an upvote or some liquid STEEM/SBD transfer, you could use the desired pictures completely legally.

I read this post from start till end and this is what got my attention the most:

wauhhh....we the steemians should strive to make steemit a complete platform.  i do really appreciate @jrue, @aweber, @yumyumseth for making  steemit a great place. we do need innovation and creativity.

i'm also working on a project of translating steemit in swahili. i know its a bit hard, but i believe things will be better.

Hashtag photofeed is a great idea for the photography artist community. I have been promoting photofeed hashtag projects in the steemit community in Indonesia. I, too, am excited about communities.  Personally, it looks to be a great way to uplift the minnows because there is a better chance of whales interacting with them since the gathering is around a common interest. 

The problem with Steemit at the moment is that it is one big stream of articles.  As you mentioned, the tags need to be manually handled and many post under tags that are popular. 

I might have to rekindle my interest in photography.

I'm really impressed by both the early execution of this idea, and the ambition for the future. I'll be honest, I'm a little envious of my photographer friends, but I'm more excited to see you all innovating and finding a way to build the platform and infrastructure, and use Steem to make positive changes not just on this site, but something that could become a positive change in photography in general.

Awesome news. I needed another curation trail.

I have a question though, I follow your curation already @cryptoctopus. Will this  affect my votes for photofeed? i.e. I autovote the photofeed trail with a 0 wait time. Then 30 mins later you autovote that trail. Will this make me vote twice thus resetting my curation rewards?

Am not much for photography as compared to editing and animation graphics but on a second thought the idea actually is not bad at all...SMT + PHOTOGRAPHY =LOTS OF FUN AND ACCOMPLISHED ARTISTS. I support this project full on and hope it is a success in the near future. Good luck

Hi @Cryptocactus maybe you must check with steemworld that the curation trail on photofeed is active. I'm adding the curation trail since 2 or 3 days and wend i check i do not see my up vote on the different posts that photofeed have been upvoted. I'm not sur that the issue of curation trail is over.
