I had been a dialysis patient for 17 years now and one thing I could not resist ever was to drink fluids as it is hard to ignore thirst than hunger. With thirst you will really drink even though you are already full and drowning with fluids in your body because drinking somewhat quenches your need and soothes you even for a little while.

I am quite full with water right now and in fact I wasn't able to sleep much this morning but it will improve after I having my needed dialysis this morning God-willing because dialysis takes out water and cleans out my blood from toxins.

In my former years of being a dialysis patient I was loading sometimes more than five kilos of water in my body but still I can tolerate it. So I was like a balloon that is let out with some of its air after finishing the session.

Drawing water from the body in large amounts would mean major muscle cramps coming so I learned to control it at dialysis. So I would not make my legs move even for a bit lest I will suffer major cramps. So now I can manage simple cramps like chicken feed. It is because if I would complain about it the nurses would change the rate of cleaning that my body receives to a minimum and I learned that fact and never complained if I can tolerate it.

Now I could not tolerate drinking much fluids because it makes me so breathless and thus pinning me down in my bed because if I just make a little effort then breathlessness ensues like I am fish out of water. It makes me more empathize in fishes now because I know what they are feeling if they are lead out from their watery homes.

That is why I am still planning to be on Peritoneal dialysis soon so that one is to make me not go out anymore in the dialysis center and two is that I wanted to control how much water is drawn out from my body and I think I can do that with Peritoneal dialysis as it cleans my body everyday and might also have a good impact on my appetite issues.
