Good day guys!!!  Here's my contribution to the on going contest.

   I've always had a deep fear for water or should i call it hatred. Right from my childhood days when i see how water wreck ships in movies and how big fishes, water snakes (anaconda) or sharks eat people. Those memories made me hate water, the only things i liked about it then was that i could drink it and use it to do things, but i never dared get into one. Maybe that's the reason why i've never been into a swimming pool till date. I get most scared whenever i travel and am on a bridge.....looking left and right seeing only water. 

   But i did swim one day or should i say drown. It was the swim of life and death and here is my story.


   It was christmas season in the year 2014.  The year was a really good one, i made way so much profit that year and i wanted to travel home to see my parents in grand style. I live and work in the city while my parents stay in the village. Its really been long since i saw them though we talk regularly on phone. I purchased a new car, my friends kept telling me the car was too big for me because it was i high profile car but it didn't matter to me. I just wanted to make my parents happy and know that i was successful.

   In high spirits i some of my friends decided to travel with me too so we could have a good christmas celebration. I took 3 of my best pals with me, bought some food stuff and on the 23rd of dec 2014 we took off. At first everything was good, we were all enjoying the moment, my mum called a couple times to know where we were and the road was just smooth. When we got to the highway fully, i was driving at the speed of 80-100km\h but my friends were taunting me, especially charles. i vividly remember him laughing so hard and asking me if i was a snail, " c'mon Danny? are you the one driving this car or is the car driving you? so being such a snail man speedup!!!" these were his words while the others laughed hard. So me, in a bid to show these guys what am made of i stepped on the gas and in no time i was driving at the speed of 180-200km\h. They all cheered and hailed me but deep down i knew i was not used to that kind of speed, i was having a hard time controlling the vehicle but hard to laugh and act all good. I even went as far has taking my hard off the steering for about 2mins and that singular act made them all shout in respect, they kept hailing me and all that.


   Then came the moment we came across a bridge. If i had remembered there was a bridge i wouldn't have been on such a high speed, i would have slowed down at least. When we got to the bridge OH MY GOD!!! i felt so tensed, my hands were shaking. The pothole ahead was clear though big and i would have avoided it. When we got close i swerved and tried avoiding it but i was tensed and scared. We ran straight into it and the next thing. It was terrible. Our car bounced up with full force because of the speed. we somasaulted 4 times and landed in the river below. That was the scariest moment of  my life. The last thing i remembered was my friends lying unconcious and water gushing into the car. Everything was so scary! There i was, right in the middle of my greatest fear. I blacked out!!!!


   When i opened my eyes later, i saw myself in the hospital along side my friends. The doctor said its been 2weeks since the accident and that i was the first person waking up from coma. He told me that one of them damaged his spine while the other's leg really needs to be cut of while the 3rd person was barely alive. I was the luckiest of them all with zero injuries. I later found out that my mum slumped on hearing that her only son and child was involved in a ghastly car accident that fell into the river. She knew how much i hated water. When i became strong again i went to see her and found out she was on life support. She later died!!!

Its been many years now and things going fine, but my  hatred for water continues
