It hit me with something strange, power as big as whole universe, as I walked through the portal I didn't find what I expected. When the High Priest told me that I had to learn more, I expected that I would go to some school, but this is not the case.
I found myself in a nothingness, a strange place where there was no beginning or end. I did the only thing that came to my mind. I opened my mind as before to the Priest. It seemed much easier here than before. I was in an immaterial world, a place where my body did not matter, because it does not belong to me. At that moment of complete vulnerability, I felt a strange force in my brain that had the perfect network of knowledge that I thought they did not even exist. Strange, but as my body was weaker at the same moment, my knowledge was increasing at an abnormal speed. Just as my mind was on the palm of my hand, I felt that all the knowledge of this world lay in the same way in front of me. Power out of every sense. Less and less I could clearly make myself think of myself as a living creature. At any moment, I became more complete and more powerful.
All this incredible and comprehensive knowledge was now mine, but I'm not sure that I can use it safely. The magic, which was long ago undernourished in my blood, was now awakened. I feel it now, as part of my being. How I used to live without this feeling?
The truths that were given to me were so cruel that I never thought they were possible. All the human failings from the beginning of time, all the successes and greatest wishes and needs were now known to me. At that moment, I was not sure I could handle it. But this is expected of me, I can be the hope or doom of this World, and no matter what I will be of these two, I have to persevere. There is no fluctuation, no re-thinking, you find the task and work. These are some of the basic lessons that were given to me on my previous training. Now I kept them tight.
The magic, this sweet and enchanting force, awakened the feelings in my body that I was not aware that I would ever feel. All complex and simple rituals now belonged to me, all the secrets of the crafts were mine. The lives of those who had the same blood and the task before me were now part of me. They all passed a similar path like me. In their youth, they were experienced to the fullest possible extent, later they were assigned the same task. None of them succeeded. I was not sure whether I would be able, but perhaps this time it will be different.
I've experienced battles, wars, sieges. Destructions that did not leave a stone on stone. I died as an ordinary soldier and officer. And the memories of some past and other lives gave me knowledge. It was all mine.
And then, the blacknessin front of the eyes, in the mind, everywhere around me.
I opened my eyes and found myself in front of the portal. Is it all over? It took so short. From this basement I could not figure out which time of the day, but I was hoping to find the Priest in his room. I got back in the same way I came down. When I came to the door of his room and walked in, I saw that he was not there. Just one of his guards. He offered me to eat and said to wait, he will bring the Priest.
A couple of hours later, the two of them came in.
"Congratulations, now you have fulfilled your destiny, or at least part of it. I was worried, you stayed too long, but I could not do anything about it. Nobody has ever stayed so long. I know you're wondering what time it is, but the time in the portal does not flow at the same speed as here. For you only minutes passed, but here years have passed ." He said it in the same clear voice as before, the very moment when he entered the room.
I was a little surprised, but that's not important. I had all the essential knowledge of the world, and I am ready. I knew which task was ahead of us. Holy assignment.
"I'm ready." That was all I needed to say. Let the time of Change begin.
