**Matthew 28: 19-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24: 44-48; John 20:21**

The purpose of the message is to study the scriptures on the responsibility of world evangelism.

For two thousand years, since the mandate of Christ, "Go to the whole world and preach the gospel," we have been trying to find out who has the responsibility to fulfill that mandate. Most Christians agree that it is the responsibility of the church, the churches agree that it is the work of the mission, the missions agree that it is the work of the missionaries.

Everyone agrees that it is the work and responsibility of other people, but no one is fulfilling the mandate that Christ gave us two thousand years ago. If you have doubts about what I am saying, look at the results of world evangelism in the last 50 years.

I. How the Churches neglected their responsibility for World Evangelism.

A. The churches have been deceived by Satan in the area of ​​neglecting his responsibility to evangelize the world. This is not something new. The devil was always against world evangelism.

B. The churches have given responsibility for world evangelism to others and that is why they are neglecting their own responsibility.
1. Work has been given to missionary societies, missions, or missionary movements. They have done that believing that it is the right thing because it is tradition or they think that the work is too big.

2. The work has been given to some people in the church as:
to. The Missionary Society of Women
b. Some Sunday School classes, or missionary groups in the church
c. Missionary groups of men etc. Many churches have many of those groups in the local church. Many believe that this is the way to evangelize the world.

3. The local Churches have neglected their responsibility to evangelize the world because they are putting all their effort into their own city, town, state, or country. It is very sad but also many missionaries do the same thing when they arrive on the mission field. They start a church in the mission field and never instruct their people about world evangelism.

II. How the Christian neglects his responsibility for World Evangelism

A. People, Christians included, are followers; They are not leaders. What others guide us to do is what we do.

B. Many think that missionary work should be done by few people and not many. We have taught that in concept and precept. Using Acts 13 many believe that God only calls few to the mission field. All are called - only everyone has different parts in world evangelism.

EVERY CHRISTIAN WORLDWIDE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR GLOBAL EVANGELISM.

I personally believe that we are all going to give an account to God on our part in world evangelism. How can we think that a small number of missionaries can evangelize the whole world? It is not a logical thought.

In World War II each American was involved in a type of industry that was related to war. The war we have today is for the souls of men. Therefore, that requires everyone's efforts.

C. The Christian's Oversight is caused by his failure to fully understand his personal responsibility to evangelize the world. We are going to give an account for what we do here on earth, not as a group.

III. The Responsibility of World Evangelism.

A. First of all the responsibility is of the Neo Testamentary Churches
1. He has given a mandate to the church- Matthew 28: 18-20
2. He has empowered the church- Acts 2: 1-4
3. He has given work to the church by selecting missionaries from it- Acts 13: 1-3

4. He sends his church to give to sustain HIS work in world evangelism- II Cor. 8 & 9
5. He expects his church to do the work- Matthew 28:20

B. Second, the responsibility belongs to the believers of the New Testament Churches.

1. The shepherds- Ef. 4: 11-12

to. I am mentioning the pastors first because the cause of Christ rises or falls here. These are the leaders of God. If they do not know or do not instruct, little will be done.

b. Pastors of churches MUST UNDERSTAND THE PROGRAM OF GLOBAL EVANGELISM. They are the key. The history of the church reveals that the people knew about Christ when the men of God knew God's plan and carried it out.

c. Too much "other things" have entered the minds and lives of pastors and are blind to the vision of world evangelism. Pastors must remember that everything they engage in must have the ultimate goal of world evangelism.

2. The Missionaries
to. Those who serve God outside of their country or city are called missionaries. I do not believe that the word is found in the Bible, but today we use that word to talk about work and the worker.

b. The responsibility of the missionary is very great. He is the one whom God uses to challenge the believers of their native language to unite in the work of God. Many times God uses him to instruct believers about world evangelism.

c. When he is in his missionary field, perhaps he will be a pastor, evangelist, teacher, and also a missionary for the people where God called him. He must win people for Christ, baptize them, instruct them, and challenge them to become involved in world evangelism.

The life and ministry of Paul is the number one example of this type of ministry. His life should be an example for all the men whom God calls to be missionaries. (Acts 20: 17-35, Study your ministry in Ephesus)

3. All Believers

to. That includes all the workers in the full-time ministry, evangelists, those who work in the churches, those who play the music, everyone. Every believer!

b. World evangelism must be carried out by each one of the people who are saved. There is no exception. We must discard the idea that mission is a job that is for a few people. It must be a job that everyone does. It is our work to do, it is not the work of others.

C. Missions, Societies, Committees, etc. Your Responsibility

1. Organizations such as missionary societies, missions, etc. they are a consequence of churches or Christians trying to find methods to start a missionary program. Many of these organizations work well for a while, but if they do not have the right leader, they do not continue to do the missionary work.

a. They lose their vision for world evangelism ... they get involved in humanitarian efforts.

b. Money, land, etc. they are problems that cause them to derive from their position. Money for missions is spent on other things, the emphasis of world evangelism is lost because they are focusing on other things.

2. If those organizations become too involved in secondary things, it is as if the Spirit of God leaves them and they derive for years in confusion. If they are going to use those organizations, they should be a local church ministry, their leaders should be pastors of local churches, to keep world evangelism their work and main goal.

**IV. The Responsibility of World Evangelism.**

I want to conclude that lesson by saying that the responsibility of world evangelism is the responsibility of the neo-Testamental churches, the pastors, the missionaries, and the people who are members of the local churches.

**The Secret of Evangelization**

What does it mean to carry out a mission for God? This is the question that evangelical Christians are asked most often in a society that seems increasingly hostile to Christian witness. Therefore, missionary and incarnational words are in fashion, leading people to think holistically (another buzzword) about their presence in a particular local community.

These analyzes are good because they help prepare the people of God to fulfill the Great Commission in these times. However, I wonder if we often complicate the task of making disciples. Sometimes, the language we use to evangelize is so elaborate and academic that it prevents ordinary Christians from using what may be their most important resource: the personality that God has given them.

>>Evangelization can be difficult, because it forces the lost to confront their estrangement from God. However, spiritual conversations are difficult, sometimes, because we feel uncomfortable. Part of this is because, often, we reduce evangelization to a single transaction: I tell the person certain information about the gospel, and then I ask him to make a decision.

So, we try to do something embarrassing, like putting a brochure in the hand of a confident passenger of the subway; we ask abruptly a neighbor to accept the invitation to follow Christ after a casual conversion with that person; or we send a badly focused email, without any context, to a relative with whom we have lost contact for a long time.

Sometimes, these methods work. I know many people who became Christians as a result of this kind of rapid evangelization. However, most of the time, conversions are the result of the formation of a deliberate and authentic friendship. This involves intentionally introducing ourselves into environments where non-believers are present. It includes taking advantage of our natural human abilities to find points of agreement and create friendships. This requires patience, not trying to "close a deal", but getting closer to people to seek their good and grow in the relationship.

I have seen that this works well in my community. Although we live in a place where evangelical Christianity has a deep social roots, there is religious plurality in our community.

We recently established a good friendship with our Arab neighbors. Our children play together. We have invited them to our parties, and had deep, long and important talks about Christianity and its beliefs. And all this has happened, not because I confronted them with an evangelization pamphlet, but because we take time to create a relationship.

Proverbs 18.24 reminds us that friendships are created when we are. . . Friendly Normal. Humans. Simple Relationships are not created with the formula of one plus one equals two. The best relationships are the natural ones, in which interests are shared, kindness and willingness to grow and learn from others in mutually beneficial ways. This means that we share meals, we regret our losses and we talk about our pains and sufferings. We go through life, shoulder to shoulder.

>>Evangelical Christians tend to complicate this, as if the "spiritual conversations" were on a different and mystical level. But the truth is that, when we present ourselves to others, we do not simply bring the religious part with us; we also present ourselves as people who have a body and a spirit.

We present ourselves with the personality and with the distinctive emotions that God has given us. We bring with us our experiences, our background, our history; but also our prejudices, our weaknesses and our preferences. Our mission is not simply to transmit a set of propositions programmed in advance, but to live and share the story of Christ, adapted to the context of our time and our place.

Being Christians who carry out a mission for God means that we differ from the world; we represent a different kingdom, with its own countercultural values. But that does not mean that we are somehow less human. Actually, the followers of Christ must be the most human. We are new creations that have experienced restoration, and that are showing the world what it really is to be human.

The church is not composed of a lot of people who look the same, who sound similar and who do things in the same way. If so, there is something that we are not doing well. God is not interested in homogeneity, but in forming a church that is a border post of his kingdom-a diverse mix of races, abilities, backgrounds and nations. To be conformed to the image of Christ is not to be conformist. The image of God recreated in us is seen in a different way from one soul to another.

>>When we intentionally relate to our neighbors and coworkers, we must worry less about showing a certain type of Christian life, and worry more about the awareness that we are imperfect beings in the process of formation. Yes, that is incarnational, that is missional. But at the most basic level, making disciples is simply being human.
