If we had “true” freedom like so many would want. The first thing people would want to do is give some of it up for safety and peace. After all, we can’t just let serial killers roam around murdering all the people they want. It would also be a bad idea of companies just dump all their toxicant into that river you drink from without some kind of punishment even if it’s a joke.   While we are at it is not ok for that electrician to leave an exposed wire just sticking out of the wall like that just because they were too lazy to make it safer. 

Freedom and safety is a slippery slide. You will never get the best of both worlds we just live in too crazy of a world for that. What one person considers freedom the other considers wrongdoing. Do I think we have gone a bit too far down the “safety” side of the slider? That I do and much more. Bit silly people need to be told not to put RV’s on course control while they are sleeping in it, that coffee is hot, and plastic can suffocate.  That is just the simple things never mind the environment, and all the higher end tier stuff. 


I think most people would take a case of beer instead of a lifetime of trying to create the perfect society in their eyes.  Those kinds of people tend to run for office, and have meeting. For whatever reason they tend to get corrupted by power in the end when they realize they were just like everyone before them just with a different name. 

I’ll take my fireworks, a good drink, and a fun night. Because after all, those kind of thing are in short supply these days with everything going on. You got let yourself have some enjoyment from time to time otherwise you wake up one day and realize you are on your death bed and you had almost no fun in life. There are days when you can do more and days you just got enjoy what you can. 

People seem to always want someone else to do the terrible ugly boring things they don’t want to be bothered with or think about. That means paying something for it in exchange. What that price is will not always be the same. It is usually much higher than expected as well like that extra charge on a bill.

Freedom is inconvenient, messy, dangerous and requires tolerance and risk.  It seems that most want security and to not be bothered with behavior they don't care for.  

I can't say if it is habit or lack of practice, but I am amazed at a community that screams for someone to be our "savior" and waits for someone else to solve a problem.

Currently, I don't see a population base prepared for Freedom.  So, it is our own fault that the system is run by those willing to be leaders and set the rules.

I've been thinking about this lately; Canada day is July 1st, in the US, July 4th, but living in Mexico now, I see a different story unfolding.  Not looking for upvotes, but I just wrote a post a few days ago about the election here and how many politicians have been murdered/assassinated leading up to it.  The dead are those speaking out against the drug cartel and its power and influence.  People fighting for freedom ironically enough!

Today the world is so completely upside down and backwards, social media abounds yet nobody actually socializes. The skill set for actually interacting with a person face to face is being lost and replaced with an emoji. Kids today graduate college and can't add a simple fraction like 1/2 + 3/4 much less form a complete sentence or hold a complete thought for more than 3.5 milliseconds. I think all the time as soon as my generation dies off there will be no one to blame and no one left to actually do work.  I chuckle too at the thought that the only persons I've met that have that drive don't speak english and don't have a green card, yet we're gonna build a wall to keep them out.  Nothing makes sense any more,  nothing

People want ease and a relief from their lives and most have an indoctrinated desire to “celebrate independence” today instead of digging deeper as you have here. The freedom to type on your keyboard does not compare with the world-exploiting, citizen-controlling and surveiling oligarchy that runs this country. An illusion of freedom, but boy oh boy, people are attached it!

Point made. I think though that, with all the hustle and bustle of life, any excuse to have a party, drink beer, and see fireworks, should be taken.

Ever watch some of those videos that Adam Kokesh does?  Some of those people he talks with look at him like he's lost his mind advocating getting rid of the police and military.  One guy told him, see all these homeless people?...I couldn't even walk down this street if the police weren't around to keep them in check.  The same would be true if we didn't have military, we'd be in constant war defending the country from everyone willing to take a shot at taking it over.   What is wrong isn't what the people are doing, people were doing just fine living the American dream until the politicians sold them out for campaign contributions from corporations, granted it has taken a long time for people to wake up and realize they were being sold out but it took decades to get us into this mess and it will likely take decades to get us out of it.
