Punk Classics on Sunday #30 with "Chelsea"
Heute erscheint die Nummer 30 meiner Sunday Punk Classics. Das ist schon ein kleines Jubiläum und somit werfen wir einen Blick auf die erste Generation der Londoner Punkbewegung. 

*Chelsea* wurden 1976 gegründet, allerdings wanderten bereits drei viertel der Besetzung, darunter auch der spätere Billy Idol, nach ein paar Wochen weiter und gründeten *Generation X*. Es folgten weitere Neu- und Umbesetzungen bis zum Erscheinen des ersten Longplayers *Chelsea* im Jahre 1979. Die Band hatte teils politische Texte und war gegen die Thatcher Regierung.

Das war früher schon ganz nett, das ganze Drumherum. Man war unter sich, Konzerte fanden in kleinen Clubs statt und die Bands waren zum anfassen. Erst der ganze Kommerz hat dann alles kaputt gemacht, aber das ist bei jeder Bewegung so.
