Hey guys,

**PRAY FOR SRILANKA!!!**

Today I’m writing this article to tell you something very sad about our motherland. SriLanka is one of the tourist attraction paradises in the world which is surrounded by the Indian Ocean. It is hub for trade purposes.

Srilanka is also highly affected by the world pandemic situation and still undergoing many difficulties in living. In such a situation a ship called “X press pearl” has started sinking because of a strike in the Indian Ocean. It has been known by many environmentalists as a “Deadly blow” to our motherland. Few days ago Srilankan government said that 25 crew members were rescued. The ship is leaking poisonous oil into the ocean. In this image you can clearly see it.

Because of the thunderstorm that days the fire increases and ship started burning out of control of the Marine fire brigade and the Air force. This has become the major foreign news in many other countries. I saw Srilankans who live in abroad were crying because of this disaster.

The up to date news is that the ship is about to be wrecked. The situation is getting worse. Our Air force and Navy soldiers are trying their best to minimize the damage caused to the ocean and the land and also to reduce the burning level. But with this bad weather all efforts are in vein. The ship had cosmetics and chemical products. It is said that this ship was rejected by two other countries and only Srilanka has accepted by looking forward to get the million dollar payments for the damage caused.

Because of the storm the burnt particles of the ship started landing to the coastal line of Srilanka starting from Negombo now it has spread beyond Hikkaduwa. There is an oil leak from the ship and the coastal line was fully destroyed by the chemical effect. The sea is polluted by the poisonous chemicals and corals also destroyed. Many aquatic animals have landed to the sea shore and have died. Our eco system has undergone a severe damage including both fauna and flora.

The livelihood of fishing industry is said to be in a threat for another 100 years. And mangroves are in a threat of another 20 years because of this poisonous chemical effect.
Environmentalists has said that acid rains can occur which can cause deadly diseases for the human beings in the island as well as by inhaling poisonous chemical mixed gasses there will be another human destruction apart from the pandemic.

 Is Srilanka a tourist paradise further? Who is responsible for this? Is this a plan of the government to reduce the loan amounts and to get million dollars as damage fees? Knowingly or unknowingly we are in another critical situation rather than the pandemic. What will happen to our aquatic life? Has our motherland fallen from a hot plate to the direct fire?
