El Dorado County *doesn't want to seem cannabis friendly* and have recently made the move to revise a county ordinance that would limit the number of cannabis plants that people can grow at home. 

Their new plans for amendments to the rules would put new a limit on adults for growing, so that they could have indoor or outdoor grows with only six plants per residence, [regardless if it was for either](https://www.gtgazette.com/2020/04/27/planners-amend-cannabis-ordinance/) medicinal or recreational use.

They say that it is an effort to crackdown on people who have been growing cannabis and *supplying the black market*. 

# How About Some Freedom
Individuals growing these plants should be able to grow <b>however many they need</b> for their own use, without bureaucrats trying to limit their liberty in this circumstance.

The war on drugs has failed for decades to curb drug addiction and reduce drug supply from communities around the world, 2020 is not the time to continue the madness and further look to restrict what should be considered basic human rights.  Individuals should be free to garden in their own homes and backyards without any threat of violence coming [from the state](https://www.mtdemocrat.com/news/county-planners-amend-cannabis-ordinance/). 


It's unsurprising that those in the community who [are using cannabis for medicinal purposes](https://www.gtgazette.com/2020/04/27/planners-amend-cannabis-ordinance/) are obviously upset with the threat for change, in a move to limit their freedom and ability to grow what they need.
