This is part of an ongoing series in response to a call by oracle-d to review media dapps. This post will focus on steempress. Many people have ventured into it for one reason or the other. While some people go into it for the passion, others go into it for the money. Many articles emphasize the need to blog due to high-income returns. I remember when I first started my personal site; I was expecting to hit a lot of cash returns. That was not the case because getting approved by AdSense was another lesson I didn’t take. Just like me, many bloggers still struggle to earn from their hard intellectual content. It frustrates most of these bloggers up to the extent that they give up and stop updating their site. That is now a thing of the past because steempress is here to the rescue. #### What is steempress? I may define steempress as a special plugin for WordPress users, this plugin enables the users to connect their WordPress blog with the steem blockchain. This implies that when a user makes a post to his WordPress blog, the plugin will automatically connect and make the same post show on the steem blockchain. With this automation process, bloggers can now earn from their hard work through the steem tokens. This is a good way of getting added incentives, and I’m sure a lot of bloggers like us are happy to see this. #### How to get started with steempress It is easy to get started as long as steempress is the concern. Follow the steps below to get started: * Download the steempress plugin here * The plugin will come in the .zip format, do not unzip it because it’s the .zip format that is needed. * Log into your WordPress dashboard * On your dashboard, click plugins  * Click add plugin * Click upload plugin  * Select and upload the steempress plug-in zip file.  * Click Install * After installation, simply click the activate plugin button as shown in the image below.  * It will tell you that it has activated the plugin. To complete the setup * Visit your plug-in list and locate the steempress plugin you installed.  * Click settings * Input your user name, private posting key, and all other information required.  * Click on the ‘save all changes’ once done.  This means you have successfully finished setting up your steempress plugin. However, there is one other selection you need to keep in mind each time you make a post. You must always tick the steempress options section. We find this section on the post editor’s page. On mobile, the user needs to scroll down a little until the user sees the steempress option which contains the ‘publish to steem’.  The user needs to always tick the option before publishing his/her post. In the desktop mode, the option is located at the right-hand side of the editor.  Failure to tick this box means that the post won’t appear on the steem blockchain. #### Features of steempress The main aim of steempress is the ability to link my WordPress blog to my steemit handle. Steempress has delivered on this and I think that’s the most important feature. For the sake of this post, below are some features of steempress. #### Ability to link a WordPress site with the steem blockchain As I said earlier, this is the best and most important feature of steempress. This means users of WordPress can comfortably link their blogs and earn extra rewards from it. #### Ability to choose rewards method Steempress made it possible for me to choose how I want it to process my payout. This means I can go for the 50% steem power/ 50% steem dollars or 100% steem power.  #### Ability to delay post This feature enables me to choose when I want the post to appear on steemit. This helped me to get my site indexed first before the steemit link. This feature is a very important one. #### Other basic customization There are other settings provided by steempress that enable us to enjoy the plug-in better. This includes: * The ability to self-vote. * The ability to add a footer to your article. * The ability to adjust the appearance of the feature image. * The ability for the steem post to be edited once the WordPress post has been edited. * The ability to exclude some category from the linkage. #### Advantage of Steempress There are lots of advantages of this awesome plugin, but the main one is the ability to share your blog post with your steemit circle while earning in the process. #### Disadvantage of steempress The only disadvantage of this plugin in my own perspective is the site ranking issue. If a blogger fails to turn on the delay feature and google indexes the steemit version first, it might push your personal blog URL down the search engine and that won’t be a nice thing to some users. #### Comparison I would love to compare this plug-in to another one, but sadly there is no other plugin out there that offers this unique service. Maybe I will do the comparison later in the feature. #### Conclusion, Suggestion, And Star Rating This is a lovely plugin that any WordPress user should have. I highly recommend it to everyone looking for a way to boost their income and readers base. I would love to suggest that the developers do something for people on the blogger platform. A lot of blogs on blogger really need a boost in their income, and I’m sure they would appreciate this. I’ll give steempress a star rating of 4.7 due to its excellent performance.
