<p>Today is a big day, it's World Environment Day! To be honest I had no idea and no plan to celebrate it. In the morning when I opened my Twitter feed, my crafter friends were already tweeting about it, that's how I found out.</p>

<p>At the beginning of the year as a resolution I said starting from this year I have to make everything in my power to protect nature, stop waste, recycle, reuse, repurpose as much a I can. </p>

Today is a very special day and although a little sad because I could not share like every year with my children in Venezuela and do the activities that we like so much, I wanted to remember together with <a href="https://peakd.com/@ecotrain">@ecotrain</a> friends who like me love the land , the world environment day.</p>
<p>For example, in my case I am used to doing many ecological activities with children in Venezuela, with the limitations we have for quarantine it has been a little difficult, however I have shared some work done by children via video conference and in a virtual way.</p>
<p>The most important thing is to share and create awareness in the little ones about the importance of taking care of our environment, we promote environmental action: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.</p>
<p>I have the privilege in my country to observe beautiful landscapes and exuberant natural beauty, thanking the creator for giving me the opportunity to experience them.</p>

<h3>Mazunte Build – A View From a Bird's Eye</h3>
<p>Just before leaving the property in Mazunte, having completed our <a href="https://peakd.com/hive-123046/@stortebeker/mazunte-build-epilogue" rel="nofollow noopener" title="This link will take you away from hive.blog">Earthship-like building project</a>, our neighbor <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pablo.verq" rel="nofollow noopener" title="This link will take you away from hive.blog">Pablo</a> came over with his GoPro Drone to take some pictures of the structure from up above.</p>
<p>Even though I was sure that I knew every viewpoint of this building, having worked on it for the last four months, I was amazed at the spectacular areal footage this machine captured. The most interesting aspect of it, after the <strong>reciprocal roof</strong>, is the berm with the curving concrete beam, forming the circle of the bond-beam, and curving back around the berm.</p>

<p>Colby and Mallory had never been to Africa ... What did they think about Africa and how did they get to Africa for the first time?<br>

In 2011, Franklin (@mr-greens) from Cameroon, Africa connected with Colby from the Phoenix, Arizona – US via an online course during which Franklin shared a lot about his organization, @thegreens, with course mates. At that time, @thegreens’ active project was Beautiful Clean Green Schools (BECLEGS). Colby was inspired with the work of Franklin (@mr-greens) who always shared pictures, videos and blogs about his work. As such, Colby asked Ngalim if he and his fiancée Mallory can volunteer with his organization. </p>

<p>It might be weight loss for you, healthier eating habits, toning your body, spending more time in nature or starting a meditation practice. We all have goals in our life and dream of the time when we achieve them and enjoy more health and happiness.</p>
<p><em>If the motivation is high and we know how we can start to get there – why do we still not manage to reach our goals?</em></p>
<h3>Yes. Change can be uncomfortable.</h3>
At first, new habits take effort, it is something we are not used to, something we have to push ourselves to follow through. And therefore we tend to start tomorrow, after the weekend, next month. Have you ever been there? I know, it can be hard but our dreams should never be postponed. Time is the most valuable resource we have and we should use it wisely. When I dived into the vegetarian lifestyle, before switching to plants only a little later, I decided one day that I don’t feel comfortable eating animals any longer and I stopped right away. I knew this was too important to wait for the perfect timing to begin with it. Was it worth it? It was one of the best decisions in my life. Was it easy to start? It was challenging but only in the beginning.

<h3>Community Journal #2: Recycling and Gathering Resources</h3>

<p>With the virus life going on it's been hard for us as a community to get physically together and get any actual labor done. However, while walking around I found a burnt house that was easy to access and had tons of stuff that could be reused!</p>
<p>Zinc cans, some decent bed structures, supermarket carts (great for making dehydrator), and a few other things were available. Four of us went in to get mainly the zinc cans so we can build a storage with them and start gathering resources for our houses.</p>
