I definitely get your stances, the dapps are built to seem more familiar to people out there, I think there has been DAPP promo in the past I think but obviously there are more steemit.com promotion really, wonderful one, I guess this needs to be paid attention to

I think we should focus on promoting individual dapps rather than trying to sell the steemit.com website. Have you checked out youtube content of people talking about steemit? That's where we're going wrong really.

Definitely really, you're more than correct, this is something no one has talked about and really, I think focus should be more on the dapps that's why I'm promoting drug wars on twitter

You've got a good point and I think some DApps and their champions are doing great by approaching it in this manner. Still some way to go though
I also think putting the word Steem out has its benefits. The more it is out there, the more familiar it becomes and it needs that. Right now, it is nowhere close to Bitcoin or to some of the other ones I have learnt only after starting on Steem.
It needs to get to the point of Top Of Mind. 
I would still ask through a/any DApp onboarding, where the money is coming from... but I speak for myself.
And I don't think it is MarianneWest... she is a FreeWriter. The only contests she puts out is to do with FreeWrites and Publishing Books and then a podcast on HomeSteading :)

Hahhaa, right, Sufermarly is who I meant actually, not sure why the Freewrite lady came to mind, I guess cause I saw a lot of her tweets yesterday.

I think it is much easier to convince people to download apps than to check out a website really.

Once they have the curiosity, they take the initiative to do due diligence into looking into STEEM.

On boarding is the difficult part which is what we are all trying to solve.

Having people checkout and download say DTube/Partiko/Actifit/Esteem will have more success rate in my opinion. And all this apps have different niches and audience which makes the platform more diversified. Promoting Steemit/Steem only seem to appeal or approach bloggers which is not the only thing the STEEM blockchain is all about.

Fitness enthusiasts could take a run with Actifit in a heart beat, if the promo was done seprately. Hope you get my drift.

Ok, since it is confirmed we are talking about the same contest
She left it to the creators to let their imagination take them wherever they wanted to go... I guess no one thought of taking it from just one DApp
Hopefully someone watches your video and decides to do it or maybe you  :)
If you are a mobile user, yes that would make sense for sure but Dtube on mobile i.... hmmm the last time I tried it, I was ready to cry 
However, DrugWars.... and actifit definitely can do 
I of course prefer to work on my laptop and so a website doesn't bother  me 
But I am old school :)

Well yeah I have still seen people getting confused of  steemit.com considering it as the whole steem but forgetting this is just a front end while yeah coming from every user(if possible) to promote Steem/Dapps could be a nice one and have to say some might get confused (Who do not have idea about steem) knowing about all these dapps and at the end not getting the concept of Steem at the end of the day. While yeah we can always do it to see the effects of it, like it is said we will not know until we try.

This relates to the video im uploading later today. How do you approach people about steem? Starting off by explaining blockchains seems to be a horrible strategy,  at least for me 🤣🤣

Same Here! I am still trying to figire it out myself, one year later, I have resolved to promoting dapps other than the entire blockchain for now. It's easier to convinve people to check out and download an app.
