In humbleness, I offer the song parody, 'Away In The Danger,' based on the Christmas carol, 'Away In A Manger,' Christmas is upon us. And yet, beyond the comfort of our homes, little children lie prey to the dangers of being kidnapped and trafficked.  The loss of dreams and shattering of innocence is only a door bell away.   The CPS is working overtime to make theft quotas and pay holiday bonuses.  It is up to us to end the cancer of apathy and corruption. We must make sure children are protected from danger.   With your help, we can.

It is a frosty winter's evening.   The doors are locked and the children are off to bed. You enjoy a cup of cheer with your spouse, as you dream of the good things that tomorrow will bring. Just a few short days and old St. Nick will be visiting your home.  You and your daughter baked some delicious cookies for him and his reindeer. Yet...

>You know honey, I feel sorry for Deb and Chuck down the street. I bet they will be missing their kids, now that the CPS came knocking. 

# The Loss of Dreams

There are families that  lie victim to the prey of the CPS.   Lives and dreams are slaughtered, as cash is made on kidnapping and child trafficking. As social workers come stalking each residence, babies are scavenged.  The vultures of governmental corruption come to prey on innocence.    

>And to think Deb was planning a birthday party for dear little Brittney. They were going to visit Santa later at the children's museum.

# The Shattering of Innocence

When the CPS ( I like to call them Child Parent Separation) system enters your life, dreams slowly die and families are broken up.  Like a bull in a china shop, the greed of filthy money takes priority over the welfare of the child. The priceless treasure of innocence is shattered, never to be repaired.   Trembling in fear the voiceless and tattered cry.   Yet their plea is lost in a maze of loud disruptions and apathy...unless...

>You know they could come after our children too.  (pause).  We should do something to help Deb and chuck.  


# Apathy And Corruption

Corruption does not go away on its own. Its appetite is never ending and it grows like a cancer. It is up to us to be proactive and end this disease. Child theft and human trafficking must be gone. All it takes is a few good people to do what is right and just. Only then can apathy and its brother, corruption, be killed dead in their tracks. Only then can families live freely.  

>You are right.  We must help them get their kids back. I remember that pro-family group in town. I will contact them for starters. 

# Proactive Protection

Being proactive puts an end to apathy and shines light on the evils of corruption.   Pro-family groups are working together to help parents and children.  Folks like @familyprotection are standing up for the rights of families.   They are tirelessly working to end child theft and trafficking.   Children cannot truly live if corruption thrives.  They realize this and stand for truth and justice.   I encourage you to support @familyprotection, as they defend children from danger and bring freedom into their lives. 

# The Christmas Irony

There is an irony between this song parody and the back story to the Christmas carol. Upon the news of Christ's birth, King Herod wanted to kill the baby king.  He went on a baby slaughtering spree to end Jesus's life. Many little ones died.  Mary and Joseph escaped to Egypt until the killing ended.   There is a parallel to the injustices parents face today by the CPS.   Stalking, hunting, preying and corruption are not new.  Families today need our proactive support and our prayers.

# The Videos



I offer two video recordings to accompany this parody.   The first recording is the better known  (traditional) 'Away In A Manger' by the group, Casting Crowns.  This is simple and beautiful to hear. The second is an older version (melody), presented by Susan Boyle, complete with a robed boys choir at the Rockefeller Center (2010). This carol is refreshing as more formal writing and elegantly done.  Which ever one you choose, may the message of the parody speak to your heart.
