Southland. Shatenevo
There is a side of the world called South (Юг, Yug), and there is the South River (Yug - in russian), flowing in the Vologda and Kirov regions and connecting in Veliky Ustyug with the Sukhona River. 
Territories along the banks of the South (Yug) are called Southland (Poyuzhye). We will take a ride around these territories.

Let's start with the Kichmengsko-Gorodetsky district, where to flow two relatively large rivers - the South and Kichmenga.

The village of Shatenevo is located on a high hill near the banks of the South river. A huge temple is being restored! Even on the day off the work is boiling - the builders close the dome with iron sheet.

Near the river South in the bushes we saw the roof of the old house. We became interested and decided to get there.
The path was not easy - impenetrable bushes, nettles above human growth and a stream.

But we still managed to get there. The house turned out to be some kind of household building.

Your pictures are so interesting, a bit like from an old fairy tail world. Beautiful because of its unspoiled nature and quietness on the other hand kind of strange because it is all about the past. What will those dreaming villages be like in 20 years time?

Nice reportage, one moment i was thinking that house is going to collapse on you.  It is also nice to see that people respect religion and beliefs of the other and did not touch that "holy corner".
