FURTHER ADVENTURES IN NO MAN’S SKY

I left the space station and headed off to a new planet in order to continue my mission. The next planet was an ice world. I could see it ahead of me, its orb a blue jewel amidst the remote diamonds of distant suns.

I settled the craft down on the night side, eager to experience the cold after my time on the hot dusty planet I had come from.  The snow ground crunched beneath my feet and all around me trees stood silently guarding this quiet place, their needles dusted with ice crystals. I headed off, deep footprints trailing behind me.

Presently, I came across one of this world’s inhabitants. It had a kind of reptilian look to it in that its skin was scaled, and on its back it wore bony armour with twisted horns. But it also had mammalian traits, with a head like a wolf. I scanned this animal and watched as it made its way into the frozen night.

The sun had begun rising over the horizon, and the sky began to glow pinkish yellow. Far off in the distance I could make out the dawn on a distant world, appearing to me as a thin, bright halo encircling one side of the planet. Where I was the light was reflecting brilliantly off of the snow, and the various hills and mountains were casting deep shadows.

As I made my way carefully up one of the lesser slopes, I could hear something heavy approaching from the opposite direction. I crouched down close to some ice-covered rocks, a little apprehensive with regards to what was approaching. Over the crest of the hill this gigantic creature appeared. Its head reminded me of a ram, what with the twisted horns that sprouted either side, but it was much more massive than any goat I had ever seen. This creature was as big as an elephant. It raised its head and brayed as if challenging anyone who dared reply to a contest. I wondered what animal would dare take this mighty beast on. I scanned it, and in so doing had collected sufficient data.

It was time to head back to base and see what Idzh would make of the discoveries I had made.
