The fact you created a video streaming platform is no big deal. 15 years ago the cost of hardware was the biggest barrier to hosting photos and videos-many hosting providers have since come and gone. You just created a niche product that Ned Scott found added value to the chain. And you since pissed off that niche market. Calling those loyal to hive thieves could cost you heavy damages in a libel suit-even if you prevail the attorney fees and the distractions will cause serious economic pain and massive productive distractions.
I see you are steeming that misterdelegation didn't get the air drop, and therefore you didn't get their 200k hive delegation. Would you still be complaining about hive if misterdelegation completely removed his delegation completely and hive gave steeminc 65m+- hive? You would still have nothing. You sound more angry at hive than you do steem; that cut dtube off about 1.8M steem in welfare. You could still apply for a proposal, but you seem to be pissing off too many people in the process. Might I ask, who are your customers? And are you doing anything to attract new customers to replace the hive community that you piss off? I know I know, I should shut up.
Coders across the world are doing great things every day of far greater complexity, but in the end it comes down to marketing and most don't have the people network to engage in a successful marketing campaign. It is an 85% who you know, 15% what you know kind of world for success-and coders tend to fall in that 15%. It is made worse through US policies. Steemit inc provided you quite a bit of free marketing, but I see you have now understood that those days ending; That you can no longer rely on justin sun nor fishing from the steem delegated upvotes that you been sustaining dtube on. You may fall back into the pool of 15%, and deal with others looking down at you.
In the end it sounds like you learned a powerful lesson, that the only person you can really trust is yourself. Just be glad you are fortunate to be allowed to be dumb enough in your life to only have to apply it in coding and not forced obtain mastery of other specialized fields. And good luck with marketing. Not only did you ignore your customers, but you actually sided against the community witnesses and continue to side with Justin Sun's steemit, but also Given that you call your customers and greatest potential for customers ignorant f___s and thieves, and you look down at others. Really, your marketing skills suck. Although rudeness can be used in a successful marketing scheme; you clearly haven't crafted the art of rudeness to a marketable and profitable state.
As far as starting your own block chain. Have fun. Tens of thousands of coins out there-not sure how many of them represent independent chains. just copy, paste, and compile I suppose. Just one out of many. And how many people do you think will be running mining or otherwise processing transactions on your chain. Will there be pre-mining for development, will there be a kickstarter or an ICO, will their be an air drop, Will the dtube SE tokens be swapped over? How much seed capital do you think you need. Will you be able to prevent a 51% attack or other attacks on the chain? Will you have a budget to ensure that running the miners/nodes will always be profitable? Who will your customers be? Many other questions too about building infrastructure, hardware, networking, or your algorithms for cryptography. More questions about revenue streams. Will you be able to afford the listing fees on exchanges. Will you be able to meet the regulatory criteria in your home country or in the countries you want to list in. Most Crypto projects fail. Even far less sophisticated projects like selling digital books on ethereum have failed. Coins back by people with far more clout have failed. Running your own chain, as opposed to a kickstarter or an ICO on a more stable and decentralized chain, I would think has a greater chance of failing.
I am not saying these things because you can't. You have a dream, but you can't expect a market to be given to you again. Certainly you still have clout, but how far can that get you? Maybe you could still form a partnership. If an investor is going to ask you a critical question about why they should invest in your project, are you just going to call them an ignorant f___ and that they need to shut up. If you want to paint yourself as a brilliant coder, start with reprogramming yourself.
I see you did ultimately move to hive. Ultimately though, avoid using Justin Sun and his companies for important sole data storage.
