En esta hermosa sesión fotográfica te invito a conocer parte de las maravillas culturales que comprende el acervo patrimonial de Grecia. Un magnífico suelo cuyos materiales se corresponden con diversas Eras y tiempos geológicos, desde las primitivas formaciones del pérmico en el Paleozoico hasta el Cuaternario en el actual Holoceno, porque continúa su formación a causa de procesos sedimentarios. Una tierra llena de magia,divinidades, adivinos, sabios, filósofos, científicos y una creatividad literaria sin precedentes.

> In this beautiful photo session I invite you to get to know some of the cultural wonders that comprise Greece's heritage. A magnificent soil whose materials correspond to diverse geological eras and times, from the primitive formations of the Permian in the Paleozoic to the Quaternary in the current Holocene, because it still continues its formation due to sedimentary processes. A land full of magic, divinities, soothsayers, sages, philosophers, scientists and unprecedented literary creativity.

<center><IMG SRC="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/flores39/oB4SeBWs-Historia-de-Atenas.gif"></center>A mis espaldas se encuentran vestigios del Partenón, se trató del más importante templo construido en la Acropolis de Atenas; la cual debe su nombre a la diosa protectora Atenea, hija de Zeus. Se cree que este monumento esotérico fue construido entre 447 a. C. y 432 a. C. con bloques de mármol blanco extraídos del monte Pentélico, el cual posee un mineral único por su uniforme color blanco y matiz dorado al ser impactado por la luz solar. 

> Behind me are the remains of the Parthenon, the most important temple built in the Acropolis of Athens, which is named after the patron goddess Athena, daughter of Zeus. It is believed that this esoteric monument was built between 447 B.C. and 432 B.C. with white marble blocks extracted from Mount Penethelus, which has a unique mineral because of its uniform white color and golden hue when impacted by sunlight.

En la actualidad la cantera de mármol del monte Pentélico se encuentra bajo protección del Estado y se extrae material únicamente para fines de restauración de los templos y construcciones antiguas.

> At present the marble quarry of Mount Pentélico is under the protection of the State and material is extracted only for the purpose of restoring the temples and ancient buildings.

Según el historiador Plutarco de Queronea, la primera monarquía fue personificada por Teseo, quien se dice era descendiente de Etra y Egeo; aunque, algunas fuentes mitológicas lo reconocen como hijo de Poseidón, divinidad de los mares. 

According to the historian Plutarch of Chaeronea, the first monarchy was personified by Theseus, who is said to be a descendant of Etra and Aegean; although, some mythological sources recognize him as the son of Poseidon, divinity of the seas.

Para la civilización griega cada fragmento de estos lugares que consideraron sagrados, son patrimonio histórico y cultural de la humanidad; de hecho, la UNESCO le confirió tal envestidura. 

> For the Greek civilization, each fragment of these places that they considered sacred, are historical and cultural patrimony of humanity; in fact, UNESCO conferred him such an investiture.

Alrededor de los santuario de Apolo y Atenea, así como otros monumentos, se encuentran grandes rocas que datan de más de 2600 años.

Around the sanctuaries of Apollo and Athena, as well as other monuments, are large rocks dating back more than 2600 years.

En la imagen se muestran las ruinas del monumento arquitectónico que se erigió en el lugar donde había sido destruido el templo de arcaico de Atenea, destrozado por los Persas durante las Guerras Médicas. Se estima que fue construido por el 421 a. C. en un pacto de paz durante la guerra del Peloponeso. 

> The image shows the ruins of the architectural monument that was erected on the site where the archaic temple of Athena had been destroyed by the Persians during the Medical Wars. It is estimated that it was built in 421 BC in a peace pact during the Peloponnesian War.

Los griegos rivalizaron entre sí durante muchos años; sin embargo, formaron alianzas para combatir a los Persas durante la invasión de Darío y Jerjes.

> The Greeks rivaled each other for many years; however, they formed alliances to fight the Persians during the invasion of Darius and Xerxes.

El establecimiento de sus ciudades en montes y elevados acantilados se debió a varios aspectos, uno de ellos es tener una óptima posición defensiva ante posibles invasores y enemigos; la concepción de estar más cerca de los dioses y protectores. En la Grecia clásica no solo se rendía culto a deidades, sino que se les temía y estaba penado no rendir votos a los dioses. 

> The establishment of their cities in mountains and high cliffs was due to several aspects, one of them is to have an optimal defensive position before possible invaders and enemies; the conception of being closer to the gods and protectors. In classic Greece, not only were deities worshipped, but they were feared and it was a punishment not to give votes to the gods.

Esta civilización desarrolló un avanzado proceso de ingeniería y arquitectura que conjuntamente con su economía de puerto llevó a Grecia a su rápido esplendor como emporio económico, social, político y militar.

> This civilization developed an advanced process of engineering and architecture that together with its port economy led Greece to its rapid splendor as an economic, social, political and military emporium.

En la imagen se aprecia una hermosa vista de las ruinas pertenecientes al teatro de Dioniso, ubicado en el extremo sur de la ciudad ateniense. Fue un icono religioso donde se rendía culto al dios del vino y del teatro.

> The picture shows a beautiful view of the ruins belonging to Dionysus' theatre, located at the southern end of the Athenian city. It was a religious icon where the god of wine and theater was worshipped.

Otra monumental belleza arquitectónica la vemos en las ruinas de los propileos, esta era la puerta de entrada a la acrópolis y se estima que fue construido hacia 437 a. C. por el arquitecto Mnesicles. Al fondo de la imagen se visualiza un vacío, es porque se construyó en un escarpado montículo de difícil acceso, precisamente por motivos defensivos y religiosos.

> Another monumental architectural beauty can be seen in the ruins of the Propylaea, this was the entrance to the Acropolis and is estimated to have been built around 437 BC by the architect Mnesicles. At the bottom of the image a void can be seen, it is because it was built on a steep mound of difficult access, precisely for defensive and religious reasons.
