It is nice to find games of the adventure and platform genre that escape a little from the conventional approach and add elements that make them much more entertaining and with more variability, as is the case of the game of which I will talk today that in certain parts, completely changes the mechanics and becomes a game of the fighting game genre of the most classic. So when I discovered this game it was quite obvious that I was going to play it and give it its respective review.

This time I will not make any joke about the plot of the game, because as you may have guessed is simple and it all starts when the main villain of this title, Valgo, has turned our protagonist Ralph into a child and has also kidnapped his girlfriend, so we must help him in this adventure in order to recover his girlfriend and return to be an adult, end. That's all the story, we did not need anything for a game of the genre of platform and adventure of a time ago.

Graphically it is simply spectacular, the variety of scenarios, enemies and visual effects, as well as decorations are very unique and give this game its own personality and charisma. The sprite of our character in its child form is quite well done, well defined and with enough details to stand out, similarly in its adult aspect, although a little more "simple" maintains the same characteristics in terms of design with respect to the details, plus they have a good mobility and decently varied set of movements.

The enemies have a great variety of designs and many of them very original and others focused more on comedy, you can even find some pretty funny Jojos references in certain characters. As already mentioned, there is a great variety of enemies and each of them are according to the scenario in which we find ourselves, the final bosses stand out by far, whose designs are larger, so the amount of detail in them is much more visible and besides that I know that quite well on screen, many with original designs and are always a great show to fight them.

There is a great variety of scenarios, each one of them with their respective elements that make them unique and different from each other. In itself it is not a game that explodes in graphic capabilities, but with its elements and features it manages to be a game that looks pretty good on screen and above all it is a game that has been able to overcome the challenge of time with respect to its graphic aspect. The backgrounds of the scenarios although some are quite good others are very simple, however, the "double backgrounds" are mostly the ones with the best details and the ones that make this game shine.

In the sound section of this game is quite good, with the classic melodies that we can find in any adventure game, very lively music mostly and others more focused for moments of tension, moments of calm and those moments that serve as accompaniment and "decoration" along with the visual aspect. In the same way the sound effects are fine and are always a very necessary complement in any type of video games, since in a way they help to a better gameplay, a better immersion in the mechanics and it is satisfying to perform any action with a suitable sound effect.

The Adventure of Little Ralph is basically a side-scrolling adventure game with many elements of quite conventional platforming, with an easy gameplay and mechanics in such a way that makes it a very fun and entertaining game. As is already classic in this type of video games, we must advance through a series of scenarios, overcoming obstacles in the form of platforms and of course defeating any enemy that comes in front of us, for this we will use our character's weapon, a sword.

It has a somewhat high difficulty curve at times, in itself is not an extremely difficult game and that can frustrate us, but has a level and difficulty curve quite tight, so there will be very few moments of "calm" and "tranquility", and although at times we will feel the pressure and tension to fight against some final boss or going through a scenario that will test our skills on the control of our character, in the end it is a very satisfying game to overcome the challenges that puts us.

Something quite curious with this game, is that during most of the game our character is a child (remember that at the beginning of the story is turned into a child by the main villain), however in some fights against final bosses, The Adventure of Little Ralph completely changes from an action/platform game to a game of the fighting genre, completely changing the gameplay and mechanics. In this game mode its gameplay is quite classic, similar to any fighting game of that time, there are not many combos to perform or moves, however the end result of these fights and how they are formed throughout this adventure is extremely fun.
