When I'm Told To Draw Something
Hello Steemian's

Today I would like to show you all what happens when I'm given the task to draw something. I do consider myself an artist, but not the type who is good at drawing or painting. I am musically inclined, and I do engage in a form of drawing that is rather abstract and random, but my main form of art is music. Perhaps I will work on some new material, and share it in the near future. 

This assignment was given to me in Relapse Prevention group.
The instructions were rather simple, but my mind gets bored with simple things, and honestly, I didn't want to be in the group. Here were the instructions.

*To draw a house*
>Floor- Values in life
>Roof- Things or people who offer protection
>Walls- Things or people who offer support
>Chimney- Ways you blow off "*STEEM*"
>Billboard- Things you are proud of and want to show off

We were also supposed to put 4 levels in the house describing different behaviors we want to change or control, emotions we want to change or control, things we're happy about, and what makes life worth living. The billboard was also supposed to be seperate from the house. 
I started out somewhat following the rules, then I said the hell with it, because I cannot get into something that completely lacks any self expression!

If it isn't obvious enough, I *barely* followed the rules...

I really didn't have the time to call this complete. The exercise was only supposed to take about 10 minutes. I sat there doodling as much to completion as I could for the entire hour. After group was done, I considered this done as well. I am a perfectionist, but this was not something I exactly *chose* to do.  

So what do you all think? Should futuremind have followed the rules better? By negating exactly what I was instructed to do, could it be considered counterproductive? Or counterintuitive? As if by resisting the *forceful* guidance, I am doing myself a disservice? I honestly do not think so..I find many of these activities to be pointless, and designed for the simple minded. Perhaps that is a bit too judgemental, but I don't need to draw a picture to help me align my values. I think anyone who does, needs more than just a drawing..

Enough of my ranting! Please do share your thoughts! I know, this can easily be perceived as a weird picture. *Perhaps it is*

Oh...How do you guys like my first newbie banner? I have never made one before, and admittedly, I used some free banner builder website. I am no pro at this, but I am learning!!

You know, if I were you I'll go "extend that to 4 hours because 10 minutes is just too insufficient" lul. Plus I will also ignore all rules because that's not how a drawing work :P

That's some interesting doodle...I can see a lot of little details over there. 

At least you started creating a banner 😂 I'm still looking at inspiration to maybe create one...xD

Thank you for the compliment @lilacse, yeah it's really just a doodle, drawing is nowhere in my field of expertise lol.

I can't wait to see your banner! I am sure it will be interesting! I will probably play around and make different ones until I find something I am happy with. That could take a while..

I read something like this and my mind reacts, visions of my house come in my head :-)  My house is build on the knowledge and earnings of my familiar roots, so I think my ground would be cobblestones presenting the heads of my forfathers, the walls would be made of my family and friends, for they make me feel strong ,  the roof would be made of safety glass so I always would feel protected with sight on what could happen if I not had a roof and the chimney a typewriter so I could write all my steem away , maybe I would build a condens part around it, so i also would get some condensation steem back. 
4 floors,  1 big kitchen because everyone who works in it will have a meal. 
1 big sleeping room because we all need and are obligate to rest! 
1 big play area because we need to find the joy in life 
1 meditate and think room to work out the difficulties you get in life and how to handle them. 
24 : 4 = 6   so every day you at least need 6 hours to spend on each floor to keep your house in perfect balance.

I would love to see you put this into a drawing! It certainly would make nice Steemit post ;) 

I might just challenge @vee2180 to do something like this in a painting!

Thank you for your vision, it certainly suits your personality. I see you with a big kitchen that lets lots of light in, and is very open to the nature surrounding it.

I despise following rules when it comes to exercising creativity, unless the set rules are lenient. This one, the rules were way too specific, and to me, this saps the project of any true creativity.

I really appreciate that compliment. My mind is the artistic type. I am actually a musician, and I participate in #openmic every week, but the type of art you put on canvas, is not exactly my specialty lol. My mind is somewhat chaotic, and I noticed this aspect of the drawing, and thought, "maybe some other Steemian's might connect with it in some way." I guess my suspicion was correct!
