Just a dude needing help from the Steemit world...

I need your help...I'm not the most tech-savvy guy on Steemit so have to throw it out there and hope someone  can assist me. Can someone please tell me how to *block* Actifit and Steemmonsters posts from my feed! 

I use Partiko on my smartphone and the Steemit portal on my MacBook if that helps. Apparently it's possible to block specific tags on SteemPeak but I'm also hoping someone can help me with the other two portals.

I don't want to *unfollow* the users that post this stuff as they also post occasionally about other really interesting stuff but I'm sort of at the end of my rope with it to be honest. 

Please help. I'm willing to offer the, not insignificant, reward of my eternal and heartfelt gratitude to the person(s) who can provide this much-desired solution.

I don't have the answer to this, @galenkp, but if someone does have one specific to Steemit (which I'm doubtful there is one but hoping I'm wrong), I would be *extremely* interested in it myself. I might want to extend it to other things, too. :) Now, steemchiller has an extension that works in the browser (on Firefox at least and probably others) that among other things has a filter for things like contests. It's not set up for actifit or steemmonsters, though. He's got a lot going with steemworld, but it might not hurt to send him a DM on discord or something. :)

Ah yes, seems like you feel my pain...I think my brother knows steemchiller pretty well so might hit him up from that angle...

I don't mind that people want to do the Actifit thing etc. but considering my zero-interest in it seeing it all the time sort of gets on my nerves. Same with Steemmonsters. I'm sure there's users that don't like what I post...In fact I *know* there is but the thing is they just unfollow me. I'm reluctant to do that as there's often some good value peppered throughout their blogs in between the other *low-value- stuff. (Low value in my opinion only...I'm sure they, and others value it).

There have been days where the steemmonster stuff seemed like half of my feed. It's died down quite a bit, though—I guess that happens as people aren't thrilled with changes or get too involved in the play. Actifit isn't quite as pervasive, and it generally shows up at night as I'm getting ready to sign off, which probably puts in right in the middle of your day, doesn't it? At any rate, some kind of filtering system would be nice. I think folks have been clamoring for something like that since the beginning. :)

Two second job on steempeak; but can't help you with partiko or steemit. 
It's not fantastic on mobile yet, but definitely worth making the switch on desktop.

Maybe you have followed @actifit and @steemmonsters at some point. If you have just go into steemit and unfollow those two. You will still get posts from people you follow that may post under those tag's.

You’re pretty much going to have to use SteemPeak and feature request partiko unfortunately 🙃

There is a browser add on that might let you tweak steemit if you’re particularly attached to that but that would require a browser add on and I’m not 100% certain on that front anyway and can’t check for you as my big rig is currently out of commission 😖

Hmm, I had a terrible suspicion that this would be the case. I mean the east thing would be to simply unfollow anyone who posts those two particular annoying things but that's a drastic measure and I'd rather not do so. (Sigh) 🙄😠

Man, I wish I knew...I mean I just ignore them normally, but it gets annoying, 'cause you look at a certain blog and you're like "man, I remember when this guy used to post quality content" and now it's all about taking a walk with his pet lizard or whatever - who cares? 
I mean it's fine once in a while, but not every bleedin' day.

I think this will be one of the attractive features of the Hivemind update done a couple of weeks ago as it will have the ability to sort by communities.  Sorry that I may be part if that issue as participate in both Dapps quite often.  I have seen many users starting alternate accounts to avoid this issue but I cannot find myself dealing with that burden so I apologize but think that a solution can come soon.  If not, just join one as you might like it given the experience!
