I am 63 years old.  I am married, a father of 3 and a grandfather of one unimaginably lovable but at the same time exasperating 3-year old child. No, I do not see myself in him.  I see more of his father in him. But reflecting on the photo caption above which I shared in FB made me understand that indeed life has come full circle with his birth. I do not know if you will consider me as fortunate in having the circumstance of living with my grandson and seeing him everyday.  Being able to watch him learn to talk and walk. Being able to see his tantrums when he doesn't get what he wants. Or sleeping so late at nights, no make that early mornings, keeping him company with his toys or with You Tube cartoons. Or having our regular Sunday doughnuts and Big Gulp at our favorite 7-11 store. Or just running around, kicking his football at our favorite playground.

They'll only be young once and very quickly.  I should know.  It seems I was just taking a nap and  when I woke up I suddenly realized my kids have all grown up and felt really sorry for not having been able to spend more time with them when they were younger.  But not this time.  For as long as I can, I'll spend as much time as I can possibly have with my grandson.  I just woke up the other day to find out he is about to be 4 years old in a couple of months and I suddenly miss him. Where have all the time gone?

Don't throw the opportunity to spend time with your grandkids.  If you don't have any yet, then with your kids. They are God's gift and blessing to all of us, even if they bawl and cry and mess up your evening or weekend plans.  Love them, care for them and most especially, spend time with them.
