Steemfest Blog #4 - Day 2 in Lisbon - part 1

I awoke feeling worse for wear, in part due to the copious amount of alcohol I'd consumed the previous night, and partly because I'd only had four hours of fitful sleep having lost my brand new phone. I checked my iPad for replies from @lenadr, with whom I'd shared the Uber, inside of which I had lost my phone. Nothing. Wondering how I was going to break the news of my loss to my other half, I showered and left for a brief trek to the pick up point for conference day 2 in Lisbon. The coaches arrived and I had a lovely chat with @michelle.gent about writing fiction as we made our way to the venue.

Upon arrival I deeply regretted not having my phone with which to snap photos: Secret Spot Lisbon is heart wrenchingly beautiful, something akin to a private villa or, what kept going through my mind, a James Bond villain's lair.

In between talks in the various rooms, and conversing with fellow Steemfest attendees, I walked the grounds and took shots with my iPad.

I once again met up with @terrybrock, explaining what had happened to my phone he so loved the night before. As down as I was, he said that it is in Uber's interests to look after their customers and that he had a feeling it would turn out good. I had my doubts but he was resolute I would have a happy ending.

Pepped up, I sampled the snacks and drinks on hand, but I was in no mood for alcohol. Instead I drank much coffee and orange juice, keeping an eye on new arrivals, hoping to see @lenadr. In the meanwhile I mingled some more.

One of the presentations I really enjoyed was for the @hardfork-series where @dougkarr, @ericvancewalton and @andrarchy spoke enthusiastically about the project before showing us a teaser of what it will look like.

I also enjoyed @allasyummyfood's presentation. Unfortunately I don't have a photo of this one: it felt intrusive to get out my iPad to take a shot in a smaller room.

@lenadr showed up late afternoon and after explaining to her what had happened the night before, she got on the phone to her sister - who had booked the Uber. Lena's sister got in touch with the driver who, within half an hour, dropped my phone off at her apartment! It had been found! As the presentations were over we decided to hail another Uber to go and pick it up. 

Happy to be reunited with my Note 8, we made a quick stop at my hotel to grab my charger and rushed back to the venue for the dinner.

Really happy to read that you got your phone back! Its wonderful when people are so honest! That food looks amazing btw... Makes me hungry!
