Was scared of ending up
like the rich old fool,
Who had all in all,
Yet died breaking same rule.


So I caged every accolade,
Sealed it down ocean floors.
I took no iota of rendered praise,
None did I left ashore.


So I needled talent within
and almost refused owning to it
Then I trimmed flourishing part
Never allowing it stay lit.


To say ''I can" was a taboo
I rather to you say, "I'll try"
Mediocrity made me rusty
and almost sapped my oil dry!


So we fakes that love The Lord
Never want to hear were proud'
Peradventure it comes from a priest,
It comes like a thrown fist.


Do not get me wrong
Pride isn't same as dignity.
And perhaps your good with tunes,
Do well to sing till eternity.


This is the bar,
that left us prisoners.
This is the thief
That refused us enjoying
our fruits..
