Trainer Gains Weight to Identify with Overweight Clients
Trainers who have been fit their whole lives have trouble identifying with overweight and obese clients. They don't know where you are coming from or how it feels, so how can they can advise you on how to gt in shape?

One personal trainer and underwear model, Paul “PJ” James, also came to this realization. He felt like he couldn't responsibly give overweight and obese clients tips on losing weight since he had no idea what it was like being in their shoes. In a radical move, he set out to gain weight over a three month time period, maintain that weight for another three months, then lose the weight over the following six months.

PJ details his experience in the book, Take It Off, Keep It Off: How I Went From Fat to Fat...and You Can Too-Safely, Effectively, and Permanently. He met his initial goal and tipped the scales at 246 pounds at the end of the first period. He went from slim and muscular to a 46 inch waist. Maintaining was easier than he imaged because binge eating became a new habit and the junk food he was eating made him feel lethargic.

PJ had to fight hard to get back into shape. He titled his weight loss plan the KO-90 Program. It entails eating clean, eating good carbs, controlling triggers, gaining control over binge eating, learning to handle sabotage and committing to a daily workout. It wasn't easy at first though. He started to understand why overweight and obese clients had so much trouble getting started with a new lifestyle plan.

Take It Off, Keep It Off details the K0-90 Program, including a sample menu plan, tips, client comments, beginner and advanced workout plans with photos and sample journal sheets. JP proven that you can lose weight and get in the best shape of your life, even if you don't have an athletic body to begin with. Start where you are, commit to making progress, accept that you won't always be perfect and you can reach your goals.
